"It is difficult to eat so well at lunch in restaurants. Generous portions and authentic flavours. The prices are absolutely reasonable considering that we are in Milan and that the restaurant in question is one of the oldest in Milan. Three of us spent 97 euros with the following menu: 1 appetizer to be divided into three 2 Milanese cutlets with a side dish of baked potatoes 1 herbed rabbit with polenta 3 desserts 1 bottle of water 1/2 liter of red wine 2 coffees The service was impeccable and discreet and we never felt like we had to hurry and vacate the table. I can say I spent two hours in absolute relaxation. Experience to be repeated. I recommend always booking and enjoy your meal."

Good quality dishes, friendly and kind service, but the average price is too high for a restaurant of this level.

Only the name remains of the Madonnina restaurant, it has transformed into one of the many new Milanese places for non-Milanese . Waiters with earphones take the place of the innkeeper who enriched a moment of conviviality with courtesy and friendliness. The dishes are very generous, the cutlet should be cooked a little more and the cut of the tongue should also be revised. Excellent house wine for the price/quality ratio. Coffee and water are too expensive in my opinion. Ver carta

Well finished place and fast service and very friendly waiters even though the restaurant was fully booked. Typical dishes of Milanese and Italian cuisine. Excellent food, quality and very generous portions. Highly recommended cutlet. Complete wine list... Definitely a restaurant to try and return to! Price slightly above initial expectations but considering the generous portions, the quality, the kindness and that we are in Milan I would say that the prices are fair. Thank you!

A1 Milanese cuisine including THE perfect cotoletta (Not possible to improve on it, in my humble opinion) and a superior Vitello Tonnato, everything else being SPOT-ON as well. Ridiculous negative reviews are absolutely unfounded except if you don 't like the service of efficient and busier than one arm paper hanger waiters doing miracles in this well deserved ultra busy establishment. Reservation a must! Easy to get to via public transportation: take tram #3 from Duomo (in front of Zara) and get off at San Gottardo/La Grange and walk 45 seconds! ENJOY!

"Visited months ago The label of a vegetarian restaurant absolutely does not correspond to what Joia represents in the Italian gastronomic panorama. We are talking about the maximum expression of haute cuisine, overwhelming ideas, bold and unexpected combinations, exceptional raw materials, all served in an exclusive environment suitable for providing customers with a fantastic experience. Chef Leemann showed up in person to take the order and give his suggestions on the sequence of dishes. The service staff has always proven to be very prepared to answer all our questions or curiosities about the dish itself and this knowledge was not only the heritage of the waiter who brought the dish to our table and described it to us, but of all the staff who, even randomly, we stopped to ask for further explanation! The wine list was excellent from which we chose a Barbera d 'Alba by Bartolo Mascarello. But let 's get to the food. As entrees... and calling them entrees is definitely limiting! We were offered 2 wonderful tastings which unfortunately I cannot remember in their composition, but the first was a cream with carrot and rhubarb served in a mini terracotta vase, while the second appeared like a palette of colors where some fantastic raw materials sauces could be combined manually. My lunch then began with the Cantiam la montanara where, under a soft celery foam, there was a composition of green asparagus, spring onion and truffle on chopped borlotti beans. Fantastic dish, sublime with exceptional aromas!. I then continued with The navel of the world , a wonderfully plated dish where two types of rice are used, one as a base made with asparagus and watercress, and in the center a Venere rice cake finished on top with saffron almond cream . Finally I closed the lunch with a selection of 8 cheeses, some of which were truly exceptional, accompanied by jams/honey. Obviously the bill is in line with the proposal and with the experience. I must say that it was truly a pleasure and an honor."
