Decent roast very large kids’ meals, lovely desserts especially the creme brûlée, exceptional service, waitresses really on the ball

We had a very nice meal. Place was crowded and noisy but that was to be expected this time of year. Service was wonderful and food was lovely

Friendly service and great food. We went for Sunday lunch and everything was amazing, especially the cauliflower cheese, so we ordered a second one!

Great place, lovely food ... enjoyed watching the open kitchen. Pub feel at the front and gastro pub feel at the back, good atmosphere, we will be back.

Sunday lunch really nice. Had a table for 5:30- only issue was service was a little slow and the food was all luke warm. I requested more gravy which also arrived not as hot as it should be. This is a shame as the quality of the roast dinner is lovely

It’s a lovely pub with an even better restaurant at the back. Very lively with lovely staff and good food. Slightly restricted on the food choices but perfectly acceptable. Nice wine selection too. Makes for a good time out as it’s got a great ambience.

Friendly and efficient service. Clean bar restaurant and facilities. Large well maintained and decorated outside garden area. The food vegetarian roast was very good and the vegetables very fresh as was my friends chicken roast. The only thing that was not so good was how many things werent available on the menu. We will definitely be going back.

we went for a Sunday roast and the experience was just great. my own and my partner both went for the black bell option. the portion size was good and the accompanied veg was very nice. the only disappointment that was so hard was impossible to eat. I went for brownie with celestial sorbet, the honest is the best dessert I have eaten everywhere. I am not a big fan of the pub itself, but in any case to eat again.

We eat here quite a lot. There 's been an change of management recently but the food is still excellent. We dined on a Saturday and its was unusually quiet (indeed almost empty by 9.30pm). Someone has taken down all the decent artwork too. The bar is still very much a locals hangout which might be keeping the more casual punters away. You have to run a gauntlet of local and regulars to get to the restaurant who size you up as you walk through the door; some people will find that intimidating. As I say, the food is first rate and the service is good (if a little forgetful).
