Really modern place. The method of cooking in front of you is enjoyable. The quality and quantity of food is remarkable.

Vapiano Freiburg is one of the best Vapianos all over the world. Friendly staff, professional service and nice outdoors area.

For a none German, the cousine can be a bit heavy after a few days. For me, Vapiano is a good alternative when I just want to have a meal.. A sallad, a pasta etc before I head back to the hotel again. Nothing spectacular. You know what you get at a fair price.

If you like the kind of cafeteria - concept used in Vapiano, then this is not a bad place. The pizzas were a bit small but really tasty. My son thought the lasagne was not enough food for him either, but everything was delicios. My daughter´s spaghetti bolognese was good and suficient but the pasta was a little bit undercooked. In my view this place has the best Italian coffee in town. It has a rather small selection of cakes and sweets but all are among the best quality you can find in town. Thus I go there regularly to have a coffee. The food is not bad; it's just ok in relation to prices: you get a better pizza or pasta dish than in the average pizzeria for the same price. However, it is self service. Sometimes you have to wait, not only at the food counter but also at the exit where you pay. However, the staff is very polite.

First time in a Vapiano (only learnt it was a chain when coming on here to review). What a great experience. You get handed a card and you choose what you want, order it directly from the chef who will make it to your specification. Once you've ordered been given your food, it's added to your card and you pay in the way out. Lovely fresh pasta, the pizza was nice too. Chef's were all nice and spoke great English which was handy as my German is a little rusty. Because it's custom food it is great for vegetarians with loads to choose from. We went one night to try it out but found ourselves there another night as it's a quick and easy food at great prices. Highly recommend and I may we'll try...

Visited the restaurant twice during my stay in Freiburg. On the entrance you get a card and than you have to order your dish at the station where it's being prepared and "load" it on your card. It's a nice concept where no waiter services required. When you finish you just pay at that for what was "loaded" on your card. First time it worked perfect but 2nd time I had to wait more than 20 min in line just to order pasta which was not nice a specially waiting with a hungry kid. If they had another pasta station open at the time, I wouldn't have to wait so much.Now about the food...
