Really nice food and super friendly service. The egg dosa, lamb fry, sweet paratha and pooris were particular highlights. Definitely recommended.

I had a fantastic time at this restaurant. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly. This is by far the best Indian restaurant I have been to in London.

Had the most authentic dosa and sambhar in London, better than saravana bhavan! Mains was amazing ,we had mutton malabsorption,chicken chettinad and paneer mutter all were done to perfection with chappatis.The staff members were welcoming ! Will definitely go there again! Highly recommended!

There is a reason this modest looking place is full. The food is cooked with a level of skill and care that is way beyond its price and the staff are as kind and welcoming as you could possible hope. This is a place that never fails to deliver and always leaves you with a warm smile on your face. In a city full of so many over priced, pretentious places, Vijay's is a real gem

This Indian takeaway is the worst ever. I strongly recommend avoiding it at all costs. The entire delivery experience was a disaster as they forgot one of the main dishes. They promised to deliver it in 30 minutes but it arrived in just 10 minutes and was stone cold. The chicken in the korma bhuna was shredded and not of good quality. Overall, the food was cold, tasteless, and made with poor quality meat ingredients. We ended up throwing the whole takeaway in the bin and wasted £55. I will never order from here again. Thanks. Is definitely not a place I would recommend or visit again. I read some great reviews and went for it. I should have gone instead with the review a gentleman had posted a few months earlier, as completely agree with what he had written. Dosa- the filling had no taste, hardly any salt Sambar- was like flavoured water Menu- has tons of items.. but only 2types of Dosas- masala or spicy egg. Ambience- non existent. Matter of fact- come, eat, go. Service- only 1 waiter (when we went for lunch), with extremely strong body odour on clothes. Pricing- was not cheap- at £7.50 for a masala dosa. Overall- disappointing experience, further disappointed with experience vs value charged.

Having come to Vijay a few times now, we’ve decided collectively that we definitely do not want to return again. We hadn’t booked on this particular occasion but as we had invited friends out and there wasn’t our usual haunt open, we chose to come back to Vijay. Whatever about the food, but the service needs a serious improvement. No attention to the customer, always distracted by something else and too abrupt when dealing with the ordering then. If you are a paying customer, then wine or drinks should be automatically served/poured for you, I believe this is why there is service charge too. Service can be busy at weekends, but customers will wait and be patient if they’re getting quality se...

This restaurant is not ideal for disabled visitors. With an excellent local reputation for South Indian Food, this takeaway meal was outstanding! There were so many foods that I recognised, effectively, I ordered à la carte. The irony of it was that I was looking for a Dosa restaurant, when I found this one, I didn't order a dosa. I will order one of those at a future visit. The only thing that could have been better, was the Chicken Madras. I had asked for extra hot. I got medium Spicy. The sauce was lovely and thick, as it should be. My personal preference would have been for the chicken to be all breast, as opposed to assorted chicken parts. The Coconut Chutney was outstanding.
