"on the search for a good restaurant in the opposite of eymet we stayed at the “Walnut” in eymet hanging. days before we noticed, however, due to lack of attractive outdoor area/garden we had discarded it first. the evaluations let us obey and we tried a start. Already at the reception we felt the professionalism of the staff. super nice and accommodating! ambiente up to the toilets: an experience! and just eat it! it is also spoken fluent (native) English. Nevertheless, we used French as a communication language. prices slightly elevated, but the great quality more than reasonable! should be visited! also places on the veranda free here would be helpful reservation. thanks for the delicious evening!"

We loved this restaurant very much, the decoration is very pretty, neat. The atmosphere is hot. The dishes are good too, the portions are beautiful. I've made beautiful discoveries like the mint sorbet. A pleasure!

We had an excellent dinner here. I would myself rate Cour d"Eymet slightly higher (though the prices reflect that). Walnut is perhaps more modern/international (I think they said the chef was Scottish). But nonetheless offering a seriously good meal. Well worth trying.

Recommended by friends and did not disappoint. Amazing starters beetroot dish was a revelation. Our pals had the salad with pork belly and they loved it. Main course was hake perfectly cooked. Desert was pavlova and was beautifully presented with loads of Chantilly cream and fresh fruit Ver carta

We have visited Walnut on a number of occasions since it opened. We visited twice during our summer holiday and on both occasions had excellent meals along with great service. Decent menu and the chef’s platter is an excellent way to start the meal. Interesting wine list as well. Definitely worth a visit.

Unexpected choice on a visit to Euler but we fancied something different to the standard « lunch under the arcades ». After checking reviews we decided to give Walnut a go. Great service, excellent food and wine at reasonable prices. The chef’s plancha was excellent and a great way to sample various items on the menu. Excellent and effortless bilingual welcome from the family team. Will visit again.

Lunch with friends on market day. We were greeted by the friendly and professional Chelsea. Overall, service was super. We ordered main course and dessert. The Tofu burger was exceptional, flavoured with Indian spices and dressed with fresh salad and served with fries. Our friends had the ribs and beef burger which they said were fantastic. All dishes were beautifully presented. The vegan Eaton Mess was a real treat. Looking forward to our next visit. Ver carta

It took us several weeks after restaurants were allowed to reopen to get to Walnut. There are many local restaurants and we wanted to wait until we were free for a long dinner. Big Mistake. We would have been better off standing at the door as if we were waiting for a Black Friday special. There is a new and very interesting menu. The service is as attentive as ever, but is a bit smoother than it had been before lock down. The salad was amazing and our entrees were superb! There is small but very nice and reasonably priced wine list. Even the deserts were interesting.

Fabulous food and service. Julian and Chelsea have created an excellent restaurant with a well deserved great reputation. We had our teenage kids in tow as well as my 84 year old French Aunt, all of whom are very choosy about their food. The home ground burgers with homemade buns did not disappoint, my son said it was the best steak he has ever had (and he eats steak whenever we go out) and my Aunt loved the fish of the day. We got talking to the couple on the next table who were on their second visit this holiday and were planning a 3rd before they left the area! Cannot recommend this place enough!

"We had dinner at this restaurant on an unseasonably wet and cool July evening so we were unable to eat al fresco in the courtyard, and it was here our sad tale began. The inside dining room is a very dull setting indeed. It looks...as if it was last decorated in the 90s with nasty wedding venue style table cloths, dreadful lighting and an overall old fashioned look that did not help create any of the ambiance expected in a restaurant with a good reputation. The chef/owner didn't introduce himself, or welcome us in any way that would be considered polite. He simply dragged a blackboard over and proceeded to take our order. I would describe his manner as abrupt and rushed. The food emerged surprisingly fast from the kitchen which gave us the impression it had been pre-cooked. We had a miserly prawn in very salty batter to start and a poached egg with lentils (a kind of egg soup . Neither of which dishes was particularly good. For our main course we chose fish (again a tiny fillet in a gloopy sauce and a filet de boeuf. The beef was reasonable but I struggled to cut mine (it was a little tough with the inadequate knife provided. Why no steak knives? For some strange reason we had to order dessert at the beginning (for the convenience of the chef? both of which were acceptable but had I ordered after my main (normal procedure I would have chosen something lighter. The wait staff did their best in a very fussy and unfriendly manner it seemed they were terrified of making a mistake. They presented zero personality. The owner/chef seems to spend most of his time lurking amongst the diners. He would be advised to get back in the kitchen and focus on improving the lack lustre food being dished out for quite expensive prices. In short, La Cour d'Eymet lacks atmosphere, is in need of refurbishment and modernisation and serves up food that can only be described as mediocre at best. There are NO vegetarian choices on the menu and the house wine (over 20 euros is available in supermarkets for less than 4."
