"Met friend for lunch around Haven't been in a while. No soup and sandwich anymore, asked about this option and was politely told that they threw more soup away than they sold and hadn't done soup in years. I asked for a toasted...tea cake but was told this is on the breakfast menu and causes problems when busy. Taking a look around there were more staff on than customers seated and I'm sure one tea cake during a slack period wouldn't have hurt or turned the kitchen into a chaotic mess. My friend and I orderd a sandwich, that we split between us, that was fine. The coffee was absolutely spot on and hot. That old adage give the customer what they want' clearly no longer applies at Waves. Looking after locals during the winter is a no brainer, after all we send all our visitors to the best places' during the season. Won't be returning."

We found this great cafe late one afternoon and decided to stop for coffee and sweet treats The cakes were amazing and the friendliness of the staff very welcoming. Prices reasonable definitely one to try out if in the area.

The best milkshake in Penzance! Made with the flavour ice cream to match the milkshake, so no syrup sweet aftertaste and a good thickness. Add a perfect cream tea in to the mix and you have an excellent afternoon treat. Very excited to have found...this hidden gem! Will be back again soon. Ver carta

I had a fish finger sandwich yesterday. or should I say a large fresh, broken fish in two slices of thick fresh white bread. it was amazing. it was so big that I had to use a knife and a fork. the latte should die. because the service of management and staff was exceptional. will definitely be back. thanks waves.

Just enjoyed some of the best fish and chips I've ever eaten. The batter was beautifully thin around a generous fillet of fresh tender cod. Really delicious meal served in tasteful and sparklingly clean surroundings. Served with the frothiest topped cappuccino deserving of a frothy...coffee award, if there is such a thing. Thank you for a delightful lunch, we will definitely be returning soon!

I have been to Waves many times but last week was my first visit since the start of the pandemic. I was very disappointed by the changes to the menu no longer any soup and a sandwich or jacket potatoes. The specials used to...include lasagne and sometimes chicken pie whereas all that was on offer was fish and chips or a fish finger sandwich ! sat here today, but was rejected service as we had a medium-sized dog. when we left, it was pointed out that he was very angry. our dog went to teestuben since he was weeks old, and he was never a problem. he'll just lie down until we leave. as if he's angry, but he's not a shed doodle. will never go back here with or without a dog. if they say dogs accepted, then the size should not play a roll. the introduction of the employees was unacceptable

at visiting cornwall it is not easy to eat somewhere on a wet lunchtime in penzance, but we were very happy to find waves open for the business. we received a warm and friendly greeting with the owner happy to chat. about the business. we ordered fish chips (the hake was) and it was absolutely delicious, the fish was so fresh and soft with a golden teig, it killed all boxes for us and we cannot recommend the restaurant very much. we were the only diners to start, but until we left, it was full. keep good work
