"We had booked a table online and ticked the box “Special Occasion, Birthday”, which of course creates some kind of expectation, otherwise, this option would not be offered. We were looking forward to celebrating my wife’s 60th birthday when passing through Passau. Upon arrival, we...were supposed to be seated right next to the entrance in the half-empty restaurant. We asked gently for another “better” table but were told that the only option was an outside table, as all indoor tables were reserved for other guests “in case of rain”. This fake explanation made no sense, and it took an hour-long exhausting discussion to finally be offered a fairly located table indoors. At this point in time, the good atmosphere was long gone. We should have left. The first course was served in due course, but from there we waited some 75 minutes for the main course. The mushroom soup, we had for a starter was excellent, whereas the two main courses were middle-of-the-road average bistro quality and no way up to the expectations of a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. There was no special attention to the birthday, which added yet one more disappointment the other disappointments. It was an average meal in an average restaurant. Nothing more. As said many times before, a meal is not only about the food itself, but also about the ambiance, the sequencing, the empathy and professionalism of the staff, and the feeling of being valued as a customer. Unfortunately, WeinGut and their inexperienced staff did not manage to meet our expectations."

Really good restaurant. For starters I can definitely recommend the sushi tower. A very interesting take on sush and really good. The steak, fish and sides were perfectly done. The service was that perfect balance of being attentive without being annoying. I can definitely recommend...this restaurant.

My friends and I came here to try the wine. Red wine was good but expensive. Rose wine was quite mediocre and not worth the money, it tasted like if the bottle had been open for a long time. The worst part of the visit...was the staff who were extremely extremely rude. Definitely not looking forward to come back.

nicely done atmosphere well balanced between restaurant, bar and lounge. great selection of wines accompanying very well the superb meat dishes locally sourced. So, why only 4 instead of 5 stars: simply the service hasn't come close to the remaining performance: slow. inattentive, overwhelmed. Nonetheless:...whenever visiting the beautiful city of Passau dominated by three rivers, one of them being the majestic Danube, you should stop by this great dining place most definitely so

I really like a place where you have the option of eating the regular main courses or to choose different tapa-like dishes to share. I mostly always go for the second option, because I feel it's a good way to try different flavours, and see...how the chef makes each dish with different notes. The service was really good: really friendly waiter who explained everything really well. I wasn't sure about which wine to order but I gave him a few examples of what I like and he made me try a suggestion, that was really really good. The food is very well prepared and served. The portions are good, not big but totally enough. I loved the atmosphere of the place, because it's really cosy, the light is...

"It was shortly before 10 pm and two other restaurants that had advertised having a kitchen open until 10 pm had already told me that the kitchen was, in fact, already closed. Roses was open and the waitress still let me order.I had the Cheesesteak 2 (steak, provolone, bell pepper, onion, mushroom), which came with a small salad dressed in oil and balsamic vinegar and steak fries. It was really a quality meal. The cheesesteak was one of the best I have ever had, and is definitely the best I have had in Germany. I could have eaten two. The fries were hot and fresh and cooked to perfection. The salad was OK, too - my only complaint there was that there were carrot and cucumber ribbons, which looked pretty but were hard to eat.If I remember correctly, the difference between Cheesesteak 1 and Cheesesteak 2 was sliced mushrooms, but the price difference was a euro. A euro seems a bit steep for a couple of pieces of mushroom, so if I return, I'd probably get the Cheesesteak 1 and save the euro. The other food on the menu sounded good, too.The waitress was very friendly and did an excellent job of managing the tables - at 10:30 p.m. on a Monday in winter, almost all of the tables were full and there was only one waitress working.Otherwise, the atmosphere was cozy - a shabby chic French café sort of place. Indie music was playing, and a little bit on the loud side, so if you're on a quiet date or looking for a place to meet up with friends and have a more serious conversation, this probably isn't it.Also, the beers are Hacklberger, but that's not printed on the menu - around here, there's always the risk of getting Graf Arco."
