"Nous y fûmes par hasard, genre en Octobre, fin de saison, pas grand-chose d'ouvert, à prix raisonnab', et comme il est sur la route principale, on mit un oeil curieux sur le menu du dehors. Et comme le dedans était bondé de locaux ressemblant, l'on se dit que pourquoi pas, que ce ne pouvait pas être un mauvais choix. Et point ce ne fut. Nous avons mangé splendidement, pour un prix tout à fait correct. Perso je me suis engouffré un Sweinbraten mit Spätzle. La viande était fantastiquement tendre, les spätzle gouteux, un vrai régal. En fin de soirée, et après son service, nous serrâmes chaleureusement la main du chef, la félicitation aux lèvres. Il était PLonais. Comme quoi, la plomberie ca mène à tout :-) Visiblement, il aimait et maîtrisait son métier, car il suffisait de l'entrapercevoir par le passe-assiette dans sa cuisine, comme il dominait son service avec calme et précision, et comme, en fin de soirée, il astiquait ses inox au chiffon pour le jour suivant. Y a pas de secret, quand on aime son métier, on obtient les meilleurs résultats. Je recommande vivement. Ah oui, et malgré son appellation à première vue trompeuse, cette weinstube sert également de la bière en pression (Ruppaner, von Konstanz)."

On a rainy evening went into this restaurant by chance. Waitress was friendly ad the owner came over to help us with the menu. Even offered to give us 1/2 sides so we could try more of the side items. I had a roast pork in a wine sauce with dumplings which were great. Perhaps the best dumplings of the trip -potato, onion-bread crumbs.

Der Laden hätte mehr Charme, wenn man ein Drittel des herumstehenden Krempels entsorgen würde, so ist es optisch eher Kaschemme als "rustikal" oder "urig". Wirtin war ein mundfauler Mix aus unfreundlich und desinteressiert, der Gesamteindruck war also schon mal schlecht. Speisekarte überschaubar, einfaches Essen zu fairen Preisen mit solider Qualität, nicht mehr und nicht weniger: man wird satt und es ist nicht schön - Fazit: siehe Titel.
