Weltenburger Am Dom

Love it! Fantastic beer food, excellent service great environment. Extremely recommended if you would like to try German food!

Called like minutes prior to reserve a table. Had some schnitzel with fries potatoes and dunkel beer. Everything was delicious. Good service, authentic Bavarian experience

this is a restaurant and a bar in and under the benediktinerabtei in the old town of regensburg, next to the old maismarkt. next door and probably part of the same building is the Asam church. the world-enburger am dom is the oldest.

I was looking for something traditional to eat and the gay has not disappointed me. perfectly prepared and a beautiful rash, I still couldn't finish it! a little more sour wort would have been good. all flushed down with a local radler. All right, good.

I made a reservation, arrived with our 6-y-o to a restaurant fully packed, got our table which wasn’t cleaned. Patiently waited 15 mins before starting waving to the waitresses. None of them made eye-contact, ignored us. Walked to the bar to ask them to take our order but still they ignored us. Got up, told them off, they still didn’t apologize…. Total disgrace and shame.

We went to this restaurant twice during our stay in Regensburg and sat inside as well as well as in their outdoor beer garden. It is a well-known restaurant, frequented by many locals. The service was very friendly and courteous. The menu is short but...comprises lots of traditional Bavarian dishes. I can recommend the fish with potato salad and the renowned Kaasspatz’n (traditional cheese noodles). I definitely advise tourists to come here and will go again as well.

So disappointed! After reading great reviews we were very keen to go to this restaurant. I can only think there must have been something amiss this evening. We waited one whole hour for two simple schnitzels -our side salad given to us as a starter to keep us going. Food was very basic -schnitzels thick with coating falling off -chips mediocre. Really poor. Ruined our evening really as eating too late meant we could not do anything else afterwards. Not a good experience!

It started very well, we didn’t have a reservation, but still got a table. Location is really nice and my husband really enjoyed the beer, I had Apfelspritz, very refreshing. Unfortunately it took forever to get our food. After nearly an hour the waitress told...us there was a mixup in the kitchen, so we confirmed our order schweinhaxe and a burger. I would expect these meals to be almost ready to serve, yet we still had to wait. That being said there were not as many tables and most people were finishing their lunches. This is a restaurant and bar set within and beneath the Benedictine Abbey in the old centre of Regensburg, next t the old corn market. Next door, and probably part of the same building is the Asam Church. The Weltenburger am Dom is the oldest...monastery-brewery in the world. We popped in for a couple of beers in the lovely wooden alcoves not necessary to eat if there is a free table and enjoyed the brief experience (it was very cold outside, the heat was welcome and we had minutes to kill before meeting up with our tour group to get the train back to Munich).
