Great service, reasonably priced food, simple menu but food very good, made welcome , and good sicial distancing in place

Lovely roast dinner on Sunday, staff were very attentive making sure we had enjoyed our food. The biscoff cheesecake was amazing ????

can not say enough about the staff we were well looked after, although they were very busy, eating was good and the beer went very good

Nice friendly local, we call in for Sunday dinner on a regular basis. Good value for money in my opinion. Seats outside, plenty of parking, propper Country pub.

beautiful, tasty, eat, clear homemade and cooked to order. quality ingredients and very well cooked and presented. it took a while to come but wait worth the service, very friendly, comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely recommend.

Like other reviewers.....why is this place not busier? Good attentive staff. Decent selection of beer. Good small menu of well cooked food. We had a good mixture of food, pizza was freshly made and the kids loved it, and the chicken kebabs off the specials was amazing. What topped off the meal was them rustling up a dairy free crumble at the end of the meal to ensure we were all able to have a dessert.

Absolutely amazing place to eat and relax! Sunday lunch was one of the best I’ve ever eaten and for my three year old who is going through a VERY fussy eating stage at present she was given a lovely Ice cream treat while we were eating which enabled us to finish our amazing food. The staff were really friendly and attentive and we will definitely be back again. Thank you for a brilliant lunch and your kindness towards my daughter.

a little disappointing they had no warning of our booking! Apparently they were not open up to 1.00 clock, but when we were there, the dame opened for us. Eating was okay I had filet of cadjau, what was nice, but the chantenay carrots were not peeled, what is good when they cleaned them, they were not covered and tailed, what I know again is the thing, but at bleaching shoots make sure their tops are clean. the fish had a sauce, but because the plate was a complete plate, instead of beside dishes for veg or chips meant that they were all soggy out of the sauce. the other meal times were okay, but do not think that the portions are exactly the price-performance ratio.

where do I start? that is a hidden gem that is not fair on the main road between ashbourne and derby. we were recommended here by not one, but two friends, so naturally it had to try. we have skipped on Saturday with thoughts about booking for the following Sunday and decided to eat. the menu comes on a large special board with a series of different dressed (no from tatty menu here) we choose cake and right we were compliments to the cook because my gott they were good. now for the best lunch on Sunday we arrived and were greeted by a friendly young lady who kindly offered Swap chair for my older mother to be more comfortable, how very thoughtful.
