"We stayed in the kariega room for our second visit to this beautiful boutique hotel in the Yorkshire dales. It was lovely to be welcomed with fizz and home made cookies , however we both felt our welcome was nowhere near as warm as our last visit. Maybe this was down to covid restrictions??The room was absolutely divine and out shone the St Jean room we had stayed it last time . Sitting in the hot tub next to the river was definitely the icing on the cake. Such gorgeous views. Dinner again didn’t seem quite as special as on our last visit. No canapés offered. The staff were keen for us to go straight to our table rather than peruse the menu in the lounge. Again I think this is all to do with covid restrictions. The meal was totally divine and service especially from the super friendly maitre d was great . We did have difficulties hearing what the waitress was saying masks and visors don’t help at all but again not her fault. She was lovely. We thought that having a smaller menu may mean we would struggle, but there is certainly something for everyone. My halibut was the star of the show !We had a wonderful relaxing time in the hot tub following dinner and the best nights sleep ever . Neither of us wanted to wake but we were actually excited about breakfast. This is where we felt let down... two serving staff in the dining room obviously wasn’t enough . They were doing their best to look after everyone but it was difficult to get any attention. We wanted juice replenishment it never appeared. Neither did the tea we asked for. Food was lovely but waiting 35minutes for yoghurt then another 20+ after this for hot food did seem a lot. We then felt in a rush to check out. We do love Yorebridge and wouldn’t hesitate to return, but possibly only if Ion the deal that we paid for. Almost £400 for one nights stay when it seems to be lacking that special touch we felt in our last visit.... it’s too much . Service from the staff we dealt with was great, however at the price’s yorebridge charge for a stay, I don’t believe guests should have a hefty service charge added to their bills. Surely this should be included?"

Every single thing on the menu was incredible. Each mouthful an ‘oh my gosh’, closed eyes, sit-back-and-savour moment. Discovered just by driving by while on holiday in the Dales, but so happy we did. Would definitely recommend. And already looking for an excuse to return.

We went for dinner at this pleasant hotel which was around the corner from the village we were staying in. As the weather was superb we had a cocktail in the garden. The food was good though portions were very small. My cured salmon starter was superb and his Halibut main was excellent. Service good but not faultless.

We enjoyed a fabulous Afternoon Tea at Yorebridge House. We were seated in the window, giving us a lovely view over the lawn and the dales beyond, which was made even better by the autumn sunshine. The food was delicious and the service we received was excellent. We were not rushed in any way and had a really relaxing afternoon. Thank you.

Lovely clean luxurious room. Restaurant dinner was food you remember for the right reasons, not overwhelming portions, really tasty and interesting. Restaurant had a lovely ‘not too formal’ atmosphere but I didn’t feel out of place in a dress and heels. Service fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly. Quite pricey but worth it. Would recommend and visit again.

Enjoyed another stay here (2nd visit) during half term with a 2 night stay in a hot tub room overlooking the river and bridge. Room was nice and spacious, with a comfy bed, and tasteful decor. Only downside was the peeling Zealand round the shower tray, cracked plaster in the toilet on the wall and wonky light shades on the lamps, small things but hotels in this price bracket (5 stars) should be perfect. Outside area and hot tub were fabulous, overlooking the river and nicely lit at night and with total privacy. Are on the hotel both evenings and the food was exquisite. Beautifully cooked and presented with quality drinks and wine list. Had breakfast both mornings too, and I challenge anyone...

We visited for the Sunday Lunch and, just as in our previous visits were once again completely bowled over. Three courses. I chose mushroom soup for my first. I could have dined on this incredible intense flavour all day. Our second course was beef. The wine was a palate-blessing 2016 Amancaya Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon from the Rothschild estate (Lafite) in Mendoza Agentina. Again, in Yorebridge style, the beef was so tender, very special and so satisfying with perfectly cooked veg. For the third course I chose 72% chocolate, raspberry and honeycomb. My wife had sticky toffee pudding and gave me a gorgeous taste of hers whilst I was in the middle of enjoying mine and left me feeling I should...

"We arrived frazzled because we drove around the grounds in the dark not knowing where to go. The signage inside the grounds is no help at all. Allow time for this if you haven't been before. Fortunately we had because we wanted a pre dinner drink in the bar before we ate. Even when we did arrive we weren't sure if we had arrived at the back entrance because we stood for ages with no welcome or acknowledgement. A very disappointing start to our evening. When someone did come they didn't take our coats. We went through to the snug for a drink. They gave us menus and went away. Later came back for our order. We got our drinks and ordered our food. Then very quickly afterwards we were asked to go through to the restaurant. We had only had a couple of sips of our drinks and it was still prior to the time we had actually booked our table for (7.30pm). We felt rushed. The food came and was fabulous. I had the beetroot starter which had beautifully cooked beetroots and some pickles. It also had a grain through it. I couldn't remember what the grain was so asked a member of staff. She didn't know so went away to ask and came back saying it was probably buckwheat....probably! My main was pork belly with parsnip and an apple reduction. The pork could have been cooked a little longer. I think belly needs to be very well cooked until really soft. The top skin was impossible to cut through as it was not crisp, I couldn't eat it. A steak knife would have helped. Having said that it was still a good dish which could have been excellent. We had sides of mashed potato and greens with pickles both superb. The presentation of both dishes was innovative and inviting. Portion size was good too not tiny portions of fiddled with food which I much prefer. The service was not as polished as the food. There was no obvious manager and we had different servers which is never quite as good as one for the entire meal. The servers were scruffy not appropriate for such a lovely building. Overall it was OK but could have been superb with more attention to some details. Service: 2 Location: 3"
