"We decided to try somewhere different from our usual. I was told the food at Zaalsha was nice. We ordered a Norwegian prawn balti, mushroom pilau, palak paneer and baigan jhool and tandoori roti. My partner is Punjabi so knows a thing or two about Indian food. We got free poppadoms which was. The selection of food there is great. The mushroom rice was nice, the jhool ok, the roti wasn 't very well cooked and the balti unfortunately tasted of, well, not very much at all. I had to add lemon juice to try and save it but it was really disappointing. Compared to Kashmir on Bearwood or the Covered Wagon in Billesley this doesn 't come close to taste, and despite the nice selection of food and the nice looking restaurant, what makes you come back is how tasty the food was and this was just a bit dull unfortunately. Best curry in Bearwood. Very tasty food and the service is very good too. Frequently ordered takeaway from here too, being a local resident. Never had a bad meal. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Lovely food, lovely setting, great staff. You're welcome to bring your own drinks, even though they gave a well stocked bar. Not many in on the night we were in, and it was a bit chilly. Otherwise fabulous Ver carta

Met with friends for a lovely meal last night. Staff were very friendly. The restaurant was very inviting and the food was excellent. Will definitely be going back. Exceptional ambiance. Thank you to all who served us.

It's alright. Not the most authentic. Paneer was disappointingly sliced so thinly you'd barely know it was there, samosas were tiny. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Ordered here after so long . Food took over hour . The lamb tikka was bland. The lamb biryani tasted burnt and not something I've tasted before . The balti was OK again bland a little . The rice was sweet for some reason. Certainly agree with other review food seems to have changed. Last time I ordered was few months back and was lovely . Tonight was not to my liking . Just my own opinion not reflection on business as just my taste buds .The prices here are high so I'm expecting tasty quality food which I feel was not the case tonight

"The food is really enjoyable. Some of the meat can be a bit dry in parts but generally speaking it's quite good. Is it better than what you'd get at the average chippy? Not for what it costs. Ordering two box meals and a couple of sides got the cost up to £50 with charges. Considering a large mixed meat in naan at my local chip shop is £7, it's incredibly expensive. There's far too much waste which really needs to be addressed. Every food item is at least two layers of packaging deep. With a box meal you have the outer corrugated cardboard box, then all dividers inside, then the kebab sandwich is in a box of its own, then it's in a foil wrapper, then it's in a paper wrapper. It's all needless waste and when we're all trying to be more conscious of our carbon footprint this just isn't required. There are some nice things that just aren't replicated elsewhere, their kebab bread is fantastic and very similar to a traditional Turkish pide. Their sauces are really good too. Full of flavour and balanced well with the meat but I will say there's never enough of it. Three little poxy pots is all you get.The fries are average. Nothing remarkable about them. The spicy fries are a tasty addition but this option does bump up the price but again, perfectly average.Overall I'd recommend that it's worth trying at least once but the prices are way over valued and quantity in some areas lack. If they cut down on all the needless packaging they could even bring the prices down but £15-20 for a box meal (one can of pop, one kebab sandwich, one fries and two spring rolls) it's a bit of a joke."

"Been wanting to come here for a very long time after driving/walking past it, and my partner has wanted to come here since she’s moved here. Hand sanitizer upon arrival with track trace check in code. All the staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful and all very masks. The lady we had who served us throughout our time (apologise I forgot her name began with A I think), she couldn’t have been anymore helpful. With a very wide range of food, she told us everything on the menu was very nice as she has tried everything! The decor of the restaurant is what I’d expect in a typical Italian restaurant, very rustic and has a feel of being in Italy. To start I had the belly pork with Jack Daniels sauce, I’ve never tried belly pork and it was so tasty and very tender. My other half had the goats cheese in filo pastry which was also very nice. For mains, I had the Risotto con salsiccia (spicy sausage, peppers, onions, garlic, tomato and chilli). It was so nice I’m glad it was a big portion as I wanted more! I don’t think the sausage was spicy but overall I was very impressed. Other half had a cheese chicken mushroom calzone which was also nice. We had a nice bottle of white wine which absolutely complimented the whole meal. For dessert I had sorbet and other half had a deep fried cannoli once again both really nice. Reasonable priced meal for two people, and very highly recommended. Plenty parking and we will be back soon with our family. Very authentic home cooked Italian food and Cafe Casita is way better than some of these chain restaurants!!"
