"The restaurant was busy, so a reservation makes sense. The waiting times for the order, the food and the bill were rather long, but that worked to our advantage because we had a lot to talk about. The food was good, a little more spice was missing. I had a risotto with asparagus and cherry tomatoes. There wasn't much asparagus, so I think Fr 26 was rather expensive for what was on the plate. Another meal of rigatoni with vegetables was good in terms of seasoning. Food changes and requests were addressed without any problem. The waiter was friendly. It was rather dark and loud in the restaurant but we could still talk to each other easily. At the table next door they had to read the map with a flashlight. There is also a selection for vegans and vegetarians and is labeled accordingly, which is what I call contemporary."

"This restaurant used to be good so I am doubly disappointed by our dinner. The dishes are very prettily presented dishes but the cooking skills are lacking. In addition, there were two incidents that are simply unacceptable in a restaurant of this price category. Four of us ordered the Angus steak (2nd most expensive dish on the menu) and we were asked how done we wanted them. We all picked a different doneness from rare to done. Waitress must have served them randomly because we all ended having a different doneness that we had asked. For example I asked for rare and I got the done one. The wine (red): we sent the first one back because it had a lot of sediment. The second one (different wine) has just as much sediment. We just gave up after that and drank the (not very good) wine."

"The vegan options are great! I like the tofu is cheaper than the meat options, so annoying when we pay the same to get less. If you ask, they can vegan other dishes and give options. I also got my court very sharp (a rarity in Switzerland), but I had to insist that I wanted it that way (the waiter is suspicious, I will not like it). As usual, a reservation is usually required, but they will try you in, even if you do not have one."

"Had a lovely evening meal here with a colleague after attending a conference in the city. We had booked, on a Thurs, and were glad we did cos it was busy. The service was fantastic and made the evening. I ate the potatoe parcels with mushrooms and really enjoyed it, also very happy to get a vegetarian option. There were other vegetarian options available. My colleague had chicken wings and said that they were great. A good time was had by both of us and l would definitely go back."

"The short version: if you don’t mind paying the right price for excellent food and love Mexican food, go go go! I have given up on Mexican restaurants abroad generally and in Basel in particular. We walked into this restaurant one week lunchtime because everything else around was too busy and had no idea from the outside that this was a Mexican restaurant. What a fantastic surprise. The food was just awesome and being Mexican I know what food Mexican food tastes like. I tried the ceviche at own risk and I had to stop myself from licking the plate to get the last drop of marinade. Making ceviche myself I can appreciate a good ceviche when I eat one. The fish was incredibly fresh tasting and the marinade to die for. The price and amount was in my opinion fair given the quality. My lunch buddy had some tacos and the fillings were delicious. I had a side of rice, wow that was delicate. Essentially these dishes are street food and you can’t get the taste of Mexican street food abroad and it is usually quite suboptimal. These classic dishes have been upgraded to gourmet taste and consequently you pay the price but it is totally worth it. Elsewhere you pay a bit less for Mexican food but it doesn’t taste good (see one of my reviews for comparison). My only suggestion: the rice is amazing but a slightly bigger portion for the price would be welcome. I have seen complaints about waiters not speaking German or being rude, we only had good experience."

"The service was friendly and the pizza is the best I had in Switzerland and very tasty, maybe just a little too charred for my liking. The price of the pizza is very high, but the worst area is the drinks. 5.50CHF for one bottle of coke and I think 3.50CHF for tap water! I would have been more than happy to tip the waiter if I didn’t find the tap water price so crazy. The toilets also require some improvement, the tap appears broken in the male toilets."

"Actually delicious, ordered often too. But the way they handled my last order was just anti-social! Ordered 2 beef soups via Uber Eats, but the soups had leaked through the box (poor packaging! and the courier and I were left at a loss... We called the restaurant and the employee told us that the courier should come again and that Delivered food promptly... The courier stopped coming... A day later I called and explained the situation... The restaurant immediately dismissed the mistake and told me to take an Uber myself... "Wanted to try the current vegan burger of the month (Aladdin) after taking a break from visiting new shops in the city. The menu generally has choices mostly available all year round and monthly special selection, both vegan and non-vegan, which I find very nice to offer variety. Furthermore, all burgers can be obtained with a vegetable patty as alternative too. The ordering is done via selection of the meal (either burger alone or via menu, although I didn’t see any offer for discount like in Japan), then you get a pager which will beep once your burger is ready. I ordered Aladdin and rosemary fries with ice tea to go due to the temperature. While Aladdin is probably not the best choice to take when it’s hot outside due to how dry and spicy it is, even if mildly, the burger was quite tasty and the fries were great and came with a generous portion. There are many places to sit, and it gives the vibe of an American dinner with the coziness of an European setting. You can then bring back the tray and throw away the trash around the entrance, although the staff does pass around in case anyone doesn’t do this or leaves the trays outside. Overall very kind staff and very nice experience, good to visit to try the new varieties every month and maybe bring a friend or two during the weekend."

"Friendly and friendly service! Very good food, very similar to the best of the Pho sites in Silicon Valley. A special feature here is that the noodle itself tastes sweet, although the broth has been spicier with its side cup. The spring roller and the source were also good. "Tasty Indian restaurant that serves every mouth. I have received recommendation from my South Indian neighbors that Bayleaf is the favorite Indian restaurant and they’ve ordered food for parties. I love Malai kofta, ever since my Indian feiend Made it for me. I learned to maue it myself watching the online recipe, but I wanted to try how Bayleaf makes them. So I ordered for lunch along with Shrimp dish. Conclusions: they really maue food Mild in order to adjust to the spice level of the locals I guess. I’ve never had such a mild Indian food as I’ve been mostly served Indian food from my Indian friends. The food was good, but if you want yo have not the creamiest Europeanized curry, better inform them to make them spicy. I was also surprised that Malai kofta had no visible Pander in it. It was potatoes with pistachios and raisins. Again maybe Europeanizing the dish to look more local German food. I liked my friend’s kofta full of punch if flavors and textures with cashew, raisins and elasticity from paneer. I was also surprised about yellow Malawi kofta Sauce and the waiter brought me a bit of butter chicken so I can enjoy the sauce Im more User to. That was very nice."
