"Dreadful experience... This restaurant has questionable standards, mediocre food quality, warmed up by basic chefs. If you're looking for high quality Indian food, this is not the place to go. Ordered a Cobra with the food and saw the owner top the pint with another draft beer as it was flat. I sent it back explaining I didn't want a blend of beers and ended up with a flat pint of Cobra. If they are prepared to behave like this in front of customers, what are they prepared to do in the kitchen. Ordered a Chicken Shashlik (my favourite dish). Was appalled how it was served. It consisted of oily fried sliced (not skewered) onions and peppers which had been re-fried swimming in oil with a few pieces of re-warmed up chicken tikka mixed in, with no tomatoes. It had not been traditionally prepared on a skewer and cooked from fresh in the tandoori as you would expect. When questioned over this disgusting offering, I was told, they cook everything first before they open and re-fry it in a pan for speed! This unacceptable, poor cheap standard of re-warming food up to order seems to carry on through all their dishes. The meat is tough and lacking in flavour. Would not recommend or go back. Restaurant did however in their defence give us a refund."

"Sunday lunch today was awful. One person ordered the two meat meal, one ordered turkey and one ordered macaroni cheese. The beef was meant to be cooked as their menu slightly pink, in fact it was grey and extremely tough. We sent it back and it came back with turkey which was totally smothered in gravy(which was very thick and strong) the sausage of pigs in blanket which we paid extra for tasted so totally wrong and ‘off’ I spat mine out. The waitress kept telling us that no one else had complained, which is basically saying we are being too fussy, actually don’t care if anyone else complained or not, if I am not happy with the meal I’m not happy. She did offer us a free sweet which we declined. I was totally disappointed with my meal and very surprised as I had been there many times and the food was always very good. We had in fact ordered another small meal as one of the party wanted a slice of beef and they could not supply that so we ordered another small meal, we returned that meal not touched as the beef looked grey and very over cooked. We were offered an alternative which we declined."

"The cozy pub we visited had delicious food and a lovely beer garden where we sat for a perfect little treat. The staff were friendly and Nan especially enjoyed her fish, describing it as the perfect ratio of fish to batter. She loved how thin and well-cooked the batter was, unlike some places where there is "all batter, no fish." Overall, we had a perfect experience and enjoyed the vibes of the background music playing. Highly enjoyable!"

"My friends and I came to stay here the past weekend, and stupidly I glanced at the overall rating and didn 't read any reviews and thought it would be fine. How wrong we were! On first impressions the rooms (we had 3 look lovely, and well appointed. However, then you get into it! I think between the 3 of us we could have made one room that would have been suitable. Problems included: A broken shower, lights out in the rooms, blinds that could not be opened, windows that don 't fit (so the noise is awful , dirty, uncomfortable beds, stained carpets, breakfast items unavailable, hairdryers dangerously broken, no cafetiere despite being given fresh coffee, but worst of all, NO hot water AT ALL . When we flagged this, we were told 'it 's an old building so these things happen '. Looking at the reviews, this is a regular occurrence and completely unacceptable. We were due to stay 2 nights, but after getting little sleep the first night, and going elsewhere for a coffee to contemplate, we decided to request a refund and book in somewhere else. We were told by the girl behind the bar that she didn 't know how to do that but would speak to her manager and no problem, we 'd get a refund for the second night given the state of the stay on the first. We commented that this was clearly a regular thing, as she was so quick to say no problem. I later on had a call from 'the manager ' to get feedback on our stay, who also confirmed that this was understandable and we would receive a refund....but that she would have to pass onto her manager. Finally, a THIRD manager rang to try to tell me that they had a cancellation policy, and I was not entitled to a refund I was not accepting this, and told her we had cut our losses on the first night, but that our stay was unacceptable and we were expecting 50% of the fee we had paid back. She conceded that this was fine, and would get her manager (how many levels?!?! to process. 4 days later, still no refund processed, and radio silence to my 2 emails to follow up, so I have opened a dispute with AMEX and come here to write this review."

"My wife and myself were recommended to go to the Coach Horses for lunch we were greeted by a young lady who told us and showed to sign in our reg on our car , we had not booked a table and as they were busy we had to sit in the bar for our meal but it was perfectly fine clean and comfortable ordering at the bar was easy and served by a very polite and helpful bar man, we both had a Hunters Chicken and this is one i often choose as it is one my favourite meals so i know when this done well and bang on absolutely perfect and the sauce on it was perfection. So we then had Millionaires Sundae for desert again to die for so nicely presented so would we have this again with out a doubt . I would also add the young man and young lady who were attending to our table and us were so nice and attentive , they told me the Chefs name was Gemma so well done Gemma, we will be back soon."

"We ordered our meal on Christmas eve from Harlees as we have done for many years, however this will be the last time. I am absolutely disgusted and livid at the service we received, we ordered online and were given a collection time of 6.20-6.30, my daughter arrived to collect and was told they were waiting for chips to cook to finish the order and to wait outside until it was done. which was fine. However she then waited a further twenty minutes to be called (which never happened and she had to chase it herself) whilst others were arriving, ordering and leaving with food whilst she waited. she then returned home with the order to find that one meal was missing. (these things happen) My other daughter then returned to the shop to ask after the missing meal. She was greeted by what I can only describe as the rudest service possible. Rather than an apology and the order corrected she basically accused of lying about the omission as the manager had worked on our order and that the cctv would have to be checked before the order could be corrected. The cameras were not checked and the order was corrected but in such an offensive manner my recommendation would be to think carefully before ordering here."

"Yesterday, I went with my family, to the Swans for a roast. My family have been going there very regularly. When we went to get our carvery, we noticed that all of the vegetables we yellow and insipid. When I ate the beef, it was so chewy I nearly choked on it. My daughter couldn't eat hers and both my parents did not take any vegetables. I never complain. But, I thought about it and I thought well if I spoke to them about it, it would give them the opportunity to put it right. They were very rude and would not talk to me. Although the chef, explained that vegetables are allowed to be kept on the hot plate for 40 minutes. And the vegetables were not even covered up. Last night I was sick with food poisoning. Very disappointed with their customer service. The fact that the restaurant area was almost empty, can mean only one thing, that they clearly have customers to waste."

"Loved the small selection of menu. It was a weekday and I'm always suspicious of large menus... Often a huge choice or frozen stuff and a bank of pinging microwaves.... ...But Not here! A Small selection of freshly prepared choices of main courses to go with their lovely real ales and other beverages. I opted for the liver and bacon with mash and gravy as its one of my favourite comfort dishes. Perhaps not typically a summer dish but uncious and tasty none the less. Service was quick and polite as it was on my previous visit. The pub itself has a great atmosphere and I soon found myself joining in with the local's and staff's chat and banter . As on my last visit, I had politely asked to stay over in their carpark in my campervan as I had business in Wimborne early next morning. I was Made very welcome and will return again if nearby."

"Last night, I had a delightful meal with friends at The Albion. We decided to try some of the new menu items, which were simply amazing. The friendly and helpful staff welcomed us with smiles, and we opted to dine in the bar for a more relaxed experience. The food was all deliciously prepared and beautifully presented, and our group enjoyed sharing a variety of starters such as kofta and prawns. For our mains, we savored the flavorful hunters chicken and fresh hand-cut salad. Two of us also tried the chili, which was a hit, although they weren't keen on sharing! I highly recommend exploring the new and expanded menu at The Albion - you won't be disappointed!"

"Please avoid this company. Booked for our wedding 18 months in advance. They cancelled 4 months prior to the day. They explained their business is going in a different direction and would no longer be doing weddings. We understood the challenges of the last year and accepted a refund of our deposit. To see they are still taking wedding bookings is extremely offensive. We understand they serve food daily from their unit and on their Facebook had a post that said ‘due to unforeseen circumstances’ they were shut for the same weekend of our wedding. Clearly they had other plans and had no consideration or care for the years of planning we had made. If they were more honest for their reasons then it wouldn’t have been leas frustrating. There are plenty of other local weddings caterers that match amazing food with the level of service you expect. Please be careful before booking."

"Had read excellent reviews of the food here and of the lovely rural location and it is indeed in a lovely spot. The pub was full of diners and locals at the bar and is obviously very popular. We just wanted to enjoy a drink in the garden, which lets the venue down a little bit. It appears that very little thought has been put into the outside space and the garden had an odd assortment of furniture which wasn't particularly comfortable to sit on. Unfortunately there was a very strong smell across much of the garden where there are metal drain covers in the lawn, for what I guess must be septic tanks. This meant we had to move tables a couple of times and ended up having to sit near the noisy fan from the kitchen to avoid the smell. Would happily return to dine inside, maybe this is more of a winter pub."

"We arrived Friday for a family wedding near by, we upgraded to the premium room, it was a lovely very size so was the bathroom. Our room was facing the main room, but it didn’t phase us, the hotel is on a crossroads so will be noisy the room was equipped with everything you needed coffee tea hot choc biscuits etc the bathroom had soap shampoo etc which was a nice touch room had dressing gowns also if you wanted to use them, downfall were the mattresses, they are passed their sell by date but other than that room was great, we had food on the Friday night and breakfast both morning food outstanding, the staff are really polite and helpful, Fran the land lady made us chuckle she’s so dry and very witty and the lady serving brekkie was like lovely, only downside if we had to moan were chairs inside outside need tightening, we had a lovely weekend and if we were to come back to the area we would definitely come back to the Horton"

"The tables outside had not been cleared when we arrived, the young staff all looked like they didn 't want to be there and were very busy. Had to wait for ages to be served, they weren 't sure if they could omit the tuna and give me plain cheese in my panini to start with!!. When our order arrived the young lad waiting gave my son his and said he didn 't know if he had the order correct but have it anyway. I bit in to mine only to find there was no filling what so ever, so they omitted the tuna AND the cheese just a plain piece of cardboard bread thinner than a flatbread. (My husbands had a miniscule amount of cheese in his. I informed the waitress of this who confirmed she thought it looked awful and offered a replacement and said the cheese had probably slipped out as there was nothing to hold it in! There would have been traces of cheese on it if they had put some in. I took the order back and told the man I assumed was in charge and he said that 's not what we are about but in fact it was because it had happened. He did apologise and gave me a refund but to me that was the least they could do. I shall remember my Mothers day lunch for all the wrong reasons and won 't be going back for any other meal in the future."

"Absolutely discusting customer service at this cafe. Staff were very rude, loud, uncouth and clearly uneducated. One member of staff was constantly swearing at customers.... we had to wait 45 mins for our food and then when we politely asked why it had taken so long the reply we got beggers belief. We were shouted at and basically told it was tough and if we didnt like it then we should leave. The staff were clearly un educated and extremely rude for no reason at all. We got our money back and left. If this is the sort of people that Morrisons employ then i am surprised that they have a business at all. Terrible behaviour from the cafe staff. You could tell from the security guards expression that they had seen this many times. Please please Morrisons CHANGE ALL OF YOUR CAFE STAFF IN THIS BRANCH. They are not very nice people. They all should not be allowed to work in the public industry. We will never return to this store and i suggest that if you want something to eat then please go elsewhere. Only go to this cafe if you enjoy being sworn at and abused. You should be ashamed employing people like that. Absolutely rank.......AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE"

"My wife and I took my 88 year old mother who lives in Verwood to John Browns for lunch today . We arrived around 12;45pm and were surprised not to see the nice range of sunday roasts or pre made salads/ploughmans which we used to be served at the counter in the past. So we duly ordered from their menu , fish and chips, macaroni cheese and I had salmon fishcake with avocado and salad. We put our trays back,collected a couple of cup of tea and a can of Coke and my wife paid and we were given a number to put on table. There was a sign up saying there would be a 15-20 minute wait for food so we found a table and drank our drinks . 35 minutes after we placed our order the food arrived, fishcake did not contain much salmon , the macaroni cheese lacked taste and the only good meal was the fish and chips which my mum had chosen. There appeared to be plenty of front of house staff so we were surprised that the food took so long to arrive especially as the cafe was not very full and both my wife and myself were hungry on our way home to Hampshire a few hours later. I do not know if this was a restricted summer menu but we will not be coming back to eat at John Browns unless the sunday roasts return and are served up at the counter . Very dissapointed. "I cannot recommend this takeaway enough. We used to go to the restaurant next door for years, but when they were closed, we decided to order from here. We have never turned back since and can't believe what we had been missing out on! The food is cooked fresh every time and they always cater to our taste preferences. I would highly recommend any of the curries with the option of 'meat', which is their incredibly tender 6-month-old lamb. They also offer the option of regular lamb. Every time we pick up our order, the place is clean and tidy, even in the kitchen, which is important to us. The service is amazing and very helpful, especially for those who want to try something different but are hesitant to take the risk. They will make your dish exactly how you like it. You never feel unwell the next day after eating as the ingredients are so fresh. I highly recommend this place to anyone who thinks they already have the best curry house."

"I chose to dine at this restaurant as a regular customer. I made a reservation for a table for two at 1:30pm for my birthday. We were seated at 1:15pm and given the menu right away. Unfortunately, when we tried to order, about 6 items of food we wanted were not available. As a result, we ended up choosing pizzas. It seemed like there was either insufficient stock or high demand for certain items on that day. It would have been helpful to have a backup plan in place for situations like this. I wonder how other customers who came in later or in the evening were affected by this issue. Overall, I was not satisfied with the availability of the food options on this occasion, although everything else about the experience was up to the usual standard."

"An attractive country pub that was clean and the staff attentive. Two of our party ordered the lamb shank which comes with bubble and squeak, but I am sorry, in my opinion it was mushy mash with some cabbage added in, not my idea of bubble and squeak. Having said that, the lamb was delicious. The third member of our party ordered the Hunter's Chicken and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal. The menu contains a good selection of puddings and we found the portions to be just right. Being a Wednesday we were able to use our Gourmet Society card and received an overall discount. All in all a good experience and one which we have come to expect from Vintage Inns."

"Me and my partner (who has already written a review, this is my account) decided to hold our wedding reception at home and after looking at a few catering firms decided to go with sorrels, what an great choice we made. We had canapés and champagne served to us to begin with and what delicious canapés they were, we had black pudding topped with scallop and a pea purée which was outstanding, miniature sausage stuffed with mash potato and topped with caremalised onions again amazing and asparagus wrapped in Parma ham, all deliciously moorish and served faultlessly by Adam our waiter and Sandra and cooked by Steve. We had a little bit of rain so ushered people into the house whilst it pasted and then back out to the garden, again Adam and Sandra served us and kept us all topped up with champagne the whole time without fault. We then went through to the main event into our marquee to be served the 3 course lunch. I have been to many weddings and events and always a little dissapointed by the food and service but what a stunning meal we had. There were 24 of us in total and were served quickly and efficiently by Sandra and Adam the food was hot and tasty and presented beatifully by Steve, really well done guys. Sorrels used our summer house to prep and cook and left that clean and tidy. This was with out a doubt the best food I have had served to me at any function, a huge thank you to Adam, Sandra and Steve for making our day even more special. Sorrels will serve you with a smile and you will not regret using them. Well done guys keep up the excellent work and standards you have. Chris"
