"After having a very good takeaway from the Tandoori, I thought I’d try out this place given the reviews below. The night didn’t start off great, I placed an order and the person over the phone had broken English and was extremely difficult to understand....After some difficulty, I managed to place my order. When I went to collect my takeaway, the mood was pretty dull. I can understand that we’re in lockdown but a few more smiles would’ve made it a bit more welcoming. However, a rather small waiter with a beard did try and come and shake my hand. Probably forgot about the social distancing measures. Nonetheless, they were able to get the collection order to me within or so minutes which was good. For appetisers, I ordered a chicken tikka and fish tikka. The chicken tikka was slightly tough and burnt around the edges. I can appreciate that chicken tikka doesn’t travel amazingly but it was slightly tougher than I’d probably expect. Fish tikka was okay but wasn’t fresh. Definitely defrosted then cooked as it was very flaky instead of tender. For the mains, we went for Mango Chicken and King Prawn Bhuna. These were below par. I knew the Mango Chicken would be mild and slightly sweet, but I didn’t realise it’ll tip me off for diabetes. So much sugar. King prawn bhuna was very bland. For a dish that’s meant to have a thick sauce, it was more or less just a king prawn dish swimming around thin gravy. Lacked a lot of flavour. The mushroom rice I ordered didn’t taste as if it was made to order. Felt like they put it in the microwave or that it was already in its container hours ago. The grains were slightly and the mushrooms felt like they lacked seasoning. As we’re in lockdown I can understand with social distancing and furloughing staff, it could potentially lead to poor standards but I couldn’t imagine it being this bad. I’m hoping this was a blip and it’ll return to normal standards post December"

"A little gem hidden away. Took my mum for afternoon tea. Lovely old fashion tea set already set out cup, saucer plate) . Linda our hostess brought out a 3 tiered plate stand. Top plate was mini cakes, doughnuts and profiteroles. Middle plate was a selection of thick crustless sliced sandwiches with hearty fillings. We had tuna, cheese with red onion, sliced tomatoes and egg some plain and some with tomato. Our bottom plate had again variety of cake two of each good sizes Walnut ? , lemon, a slice of something sweet chocolatey with a bit of a crunch very tasty) and scones with jam, clotted cream. And some strawberries. We were also asked if we would like tea or coffee. We chose tea and a pot was brought out. When we needed a top up, we only had to ask and another was brought out to us. Linda our hostess also checked with us that everything was fine and also gave us a doggy bag to take home what we couldn't manage, which we needed and was a lovely consideration, with us not having ask for one. The afternoon tea was very good value for money, very filling and yes we were absolutely stuffed. The staff are very friendly and cheerful. It was very relaxing we did not feel like we had rushed. It was also very clean and tidy. Even though it was cold outside, it was lovely and warm inside. Just remember it is easier to book in advance, also you can let staff know any dietary needs."
