"So myself and my boyfriend visited your Guildford branch for bottomless brunch on the 12/09/23 and I must say the service was absolutely appalling our booking was at 17:00 where we were seated on time however we didn’t get asked about wanting our first drink until about 15 minutes into our 2 hour time slot and then still did not receive our cocktails for another 15 minutes so wasting 30 minutes of our time we had only been given 1 cocktail! There was only between 8-10 tables that had people seated at in the restaurant in the time we were there; we also had to go up to the bar and grab our own drinks because we could see them sitting there and had been for around 5 minutes whilst the servers stood around chatting! As well as this the last cocktail we received was very warm and not even drinkable and within the 2 hour time slot we only managed to have 5 cocktails which means with two 4 one deal you have on meant it would have been cheaper not to do the bottomless brunch. We then asked for the bill which took 10/15 minutes to drop off and when looking over at the bill I had noticed that I had been charged for an item that we hadn’t even had, luckily we were refunded that money but after the shocking service we received it really was the cherry on top of the cake! I have been to your bottomless brunch many times over the last couple of years in Guildford and have always had absolutely amazing service but today has really put a damper on our experience at your restaurant and not sure if we will be returning any time soon!"

"ONCE AGAIN ! a pub with no Beer absolutely no Ale whatsoever SERIOUSLY, this is a massive pub and owned by Youngs brewery and everyone there is very upset, however this is a regular occurrence in this pub, yet it has around 8 Ale pumps. It Can’t be a couple of weeks since it last time it was totally without beer, what’s the point in driving to a Pub it’s a half hour round trip for me, to have a pint of beer when it’s proven so unreliable people just go to the multiple pubs in the area that employ managers capable of keeping at least one beer on tap ! I approached a person regarding this with a major attitude problem, sitting at a desk, to ask why this keeps happening says he one of the managers but flatly refuses to give me his name !!! Seriously, no wonder the place is so utterly disorganised. Rather than be accommodating and apologetic for the inconvenience (having driven for 15 minutes to get there for a nice pint chose to tell me I was lying. It turns out that he is the deputy manager behind Tom not on property. I felt this behaviour very strange so I took my camera phone and said ok, took a picture and said I will post it… he stood up and started to threaten me if I was to post it he would….!!!! I left the property with a view to raising this with the Police. They have spent a fortune on this property under the control of a French manager who did an amazing job in improving the property something of a disaster that through the the non existence of any management capable of running it properly will end up a waste of a lot of money."

"I met up with my brother Chris and his wife Jean this week and they chose their local Italian restaurant La Meridiana in East Horsley for our meal. It’s a lovely airy venue in a small Surrey village with comfortable chairs around roomy tables which have lovely white linen cloths and napkins. We received a prompt and friendly greeting from the staff and we decided on their Lunch Set Menu. For Starters we all chose Bianchetti Fritti(Deep-fried breaded whitebait with tartare sauce)which was hit, crispy and excellent. For Mains Jean chose Panciotti di Melanzana e Ricotta (v)(Stuffed pasta with Ricotta cheese eggplant with spinach puree cream sauce)which looked interesting. Chris went for Pollo Monte Bianco(Pan fried chicken breast with mushrooms sauce served with new potatoes)which looked appealing and they said they enjoyed their choices. I decided on Lasagna Al Forno(Layers of pasta with Bolognese sauce parmesan cheese, baked in the oven)which came piping hot and was a very authentic, generous and very tasty portion. We accompanied this with a very good Nero d'Avola for Chris and I and a Rosé for Jean. I decided to forgo Desserts because my delicious lasagne was very filling but Chris and Jean went for Homemade Tiramisu which looked amazing and they said was lovely. We finished with Italian coffee, double expressos for Chris and I, and an Americano for Jean. We all really enjoyed meeting up in a lovely restaurant!"
