"I was in the area for 2 nights and looked for somewhere good to eat, I found this place and what a find. I had the best gammon, chips, egg and mushy peas I've had anywhere, I went the second night and had it again it was that good. I saw the other food and it looked fantastic, listening to the ravings of the people eating it, it was as good as my gammon. The service is outstanding, friendly, fast and efficient and when someone had left a table it was cleared, sprayed/ cleaned with antibacterial spray and reset. I was very impressed by this place and if I'm back in the area,I know where I'm going to eat. I recommend that if you find yourself within driving distance of this gem, go and treat yourself to great food and service. Thanks Derby Arms and to the great staff. Rohan"

"Stayed here with a relative, booked 2 rooms for 1 night. Some staff members were polite but the lady who received us when we arrived may have been quite burnt out not interested in her job and was missing any basic manners it's never a good look if your staff are incapable of being at least as polite as your guests. It was difficult to tolerate how the key cards used to enter the 2 rooms could fail for a total of 5 times over the duration of an overnight stay. Every time it failed guests are expected to return to the reception to get it reset, eventually this felt like some bizarre walking exercise that the hotel like to impose on guests. It also comes across as an on going issue as staff seems to have gotten used to it. Room was generally clean ish. Sheets were clean, no stains, but the shower heads had obvious build up of scales and do not appear to have been cleaned in a long time. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Soundproofing is poor, conversations and noise from the TV (even in low volume) from next door only gets slightly dulled, so if you have to stay here, consider bringing ear plugs. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. Will fill your stomach. There's on site parking for free, but as the hotel would warn you, spaces are limited."

"We are nandos regulars and are always pleased with the food and service at the Deepdale restaurant. But our experience in the city centre restaurant was very poor. Despite us entering early (11:45), the restaurant was dirty on the floor and at the table we were shown to. We moved tables. We went to go and get cutlery and it was all dirty visible food on multiple pieces. We were not the only people of this opinion, as watching others go up to the counter, no one else took any cutlery after looking into the pots. When the food came, the burger was nice but the sides were cold. Also, no one came and checked on us part way through, as is normally done. Would not recommend!!"

"The dining experience was outstanding—easily the best Italian restaurant in and around Preston. The staff was very attentive, checking in on our meals frequently and offering us drinks whenever they noticed our glasses were empty. My only minor complaint would be that many of the waitstaff gathered and chatted in the same area, but it didn't detract from my overall experience. I would definitely recommend this place!"

"I had two great meals at The Monkeys during my stay in Preston. I enjoyed a delicious monkeys breakfast one morning after an all nighter and this breakfast hit the spot, especially the eggs. I also ate there for dinner and had a spicy...chicken over rice. The staff a very friendly and worked hard to fill our big order. I'll be back for more drub on my next visit."

"Date: 15/12/2021. To be honest, I would eat here for free just to write this review, and the person managing things at night knows who they are! Alright, all 26 of us agreed that we’ve never had a bad meal here. The kitchen does an excellent job, and the portion sizes are generous. I would definitely return... Though I drove, it was disappointing that they didn’t serve beer for those who wanted it. If they had Cobra beer, this could have easily been a perfect 5-star review. On the plus side, there’s plenty of parking for all the hungry diners. In summary, the food was fantastic. I would come back if it were in my area, meaning in the city and close to a pub."

"once again a great lunch, eat fabulous plus my business was quality. ok so they have changed the Merlot selection to running duck, wow was a merlot. seriously a beautiful wein and his vegan/vegetarian. the personal is very nice and helpful, especially if we could not remember what we had ordered, I accuse it to the wein if your wheelchair user rings in advance and book a table as it has to do. we chose another bottle when merlot instead of getting desserts, hey it was a good choice hunters, I recommend them to trust them at my places and that in itself is a great performance. keep the hard work"

"I've ordered from Lolas a good few times and everytime I love it! My and my girlfriend are vegan and we appreciate the array of options we have. They always pack a good amount and we have no problem eating it all and then coming back to it the next day : This is probably my favourite restaurant to order from in Preston and I cant wait to go inside and order when we can do! "Arrived to be shown to a table in a waiting area. Nice surrounds. Ordered drinks here and food. Got settled with the kids and their activities. Then waitress arrived to let us k ow our table was ready. I had seen when others were taken to their table, the waiting on staff took their drinks for them. The waitress told us our table was ready then quickly walked off. We were left trying to gather our coats, bags, colouring books and drinks, then trying to find to rush after the waitress. I don’t mind being kept in a holding area but if you want people to get their drinks there maybe don’t rush off and not help out when it’s needed. Food arrived swiftly when we were seated. One meal has been missed off but this was brought out in less than five mins with apologies. Food was nice, not spectacular but enjoyable. Had to get somebody’s attention to ask for another drink. Dining experience was over in an hour from start to finish. It’s a very polished set up which produces nice food at a reasonable price in an efficient manner. It just lacked any kind of personal experience for us, more of a production line."

"We ended up here quite by accident after a long walk. Sat outside in a sunny spot. You can order food and drink from a little hatch. The chap who served me couldn't have been more helpful he put on a mask before he approached the hatch. When asked, he showed me the size of the coffee mugs before we ordered as we prefer a large cuppa. He took our postcode and telephone number for contact tracing. There was a cleaning station outside, from which we were able to use spray and sanitiser. Big tick. Only thing was that the tables weren't cleared very quickly. But, with the cleaning stuff, I was able to clear and clean my own table quite easily and safely. The coffee was excellent. The fruit scone with butter dreamy. We will definitely be returning here."

"Excellent choice for lunch!!!! We went here after finding out the Bistro Pierre closeby fully booked. The food is amazing. Lunch meal is sooo good value (3 tapas for £9.99). We ordered 6 (pork stew, fried whitebait, chicken thigh, chorizo with beans, vegetable paella and patas bravas) and feel very satisfied. This is the best Spanich restaurant, I already want to come back again!! Many reviews here say the food is salty, I agree but if you order with paella like us or bread, it would be perfect. Staff is friendly and food is served very fast!! P/S: cappuccino is sensational"

"We came for lunch on a Sunday quite early and ordered one Chicken Shawarma, x 4 Sweet Potato Fries, Cookie Dough Bonanza and Kunefe. 5mins later the waiter says don't have any of the desserts we asked for or the Chicken Shawarma so we said we'll take 4 drinks and fries, another 5mins later a different waitress came to inform us they didn't have any sweet potato fries, eventually we cancelled all the food as they couldn't give us what we originally came for to order. We drank our drinks in an empty restaurant (I wonder why) and the floors were sticky on the way to the restroom. This place used to be great hence why we came today only be let down by the low standards that have befallen this place. They could of got the sweet potato fries from Home Bargain next door, it would be understanable if it was near closing time. Did the cook not inform the waiter/waitresses what wasn't available to order beforehand? Just made them look clueless"

"Hi, I am shiuly, i used to work in pepi's piri piri preston branch,but after doing 10 days work over there the person (who is managing this branch)sacked me when he got another person. When i asked for my wages the person told me that the period was training period but he didn’t mention this to me at the time of my starting work and i got nothing instead of doing so hard work and effort that i put last 10 days because i need money but the person cheated with me when i went again over there to ask for my wages he said to me that i won't get a single pence from him and he always does the same thing with others and no one can do nothing with him he has power etc,even he mentally harassed me over there for my wages and i was literary crying and asking for my wages that time the person told me that if i can make him happy in other way then only he will pay otherwise not but i denied his dirty offer and as a result i vested my valuable time and effort having got nothing.i want my wages it’s my right they have cc camera footage that how the person used me over there and removed me without a single pence."

"I ordered the homemade burger at this restaurant. The burger seemed to be made with fresh lamb. It tasted good and was juicy, but I wished it had more seasoning. The burger was hard to digest and made me feel unwell all day, leaving me uncomfortable at night. Overall, I think the burger was lacking and not as enjoyable as I had hoped."

"I recently visited a bustling subway restaurant in the city and was promptly served a meatball salad with plenty of vegetables and southwest sauce. "We organised a suprise 60th meal here on the 6th January 2024, From start to finish the whole experience was absolutely faultless. Once booking the event, we were asked to come in to grab a menu and notify them with as many of the orders as we could beforehand to ensure all the food would be available on the day and so that all meals would be served at relatively the same time. Once all meals were booked I received a few phone calls from Hannah to triple check everything and that all steaks etc were to be cooked to preference and dietary requirements catered for. When we arrived we had a whole section of the ground floor cordoned off for us with a ramp in place for wheelchair user access, along with service dogs allowed to join the party. The whole evening was absolutely brilliant, the staff were very welcoming and friendly and all meals were served exactly to order and all 33 of us ate at the same time. Give yourselves a great big pat on the back Phantom Winger, you really did tick every box on the night and we could not fault anything. Hannah was absolutely amazing and ensured everything ran to perfection. Please do not hesitate to book this venue, the food was fantastic and the service is even more so. The propeieters should be very proud of this establishment and the staff working very hard to give a great customer experience!! Thank you!"

"We came for tapas and prosecco evening. Overall it didn’t disappoint. Just a few small things which let it down. The staff were friendly and the service was great. The tapas menu was also varied with a good selection. The meat and cheese sharing board was excellent. This to start with some pink prosecco was lovely. We then began ordering a few tapas dishes at a time which were are so tasty and fresh. The Korean chicken bites were amazing. The dishes that let it down for us were the lamb koftas and the Thai green curry prawns. That lamb was far too chewing and the overall taste and seasoning was not great. The yoghurt and mint dressing was also not very nice. We left half of this dish. The Thai green curry prawns were not good at all. Tasteless prawns in a watery soup which was NOT the level of heat and flavour of a Thai curry. Could not taste prawn at all. The bread it came with was also left as it wasn’t very nice. What a disappointment to a so far wonderful evening. This is where we left the night. We must say though that we will return to enjoy the dishes and prosecco that we enjoyed to that point."
