"I booked a table for 15 people. We first arrive there at 6pm(booking time). The other guest were on their way. When we arrived i went straight to the lady and order 3 jumbo platters and 8 bottles with water which I paid straight away before anyone to arrive. After 3 minutes a waiter came to my table and told that the platters are ready to come. I said, how come, cuz the guests are not all here?? The food will be cold after 10 minutes. He said, the food is ready go be served and will bring to the table,he can't do anything. I said,i do not the food to be bring so soon on the table before the all guests arrive, i said give the platters to someone else. The waiter said he can't give the platters to someone else as no one ordered jumbo platers. Remember: it was Saturday 6pm,you do not want to know how busy is that restaurant,it was full of people. How can you say no one else ordered jumbo food??? A ****! Ok,after 10 minutes the food was there, anyway quite cold to be honest! The all people came and we served the food. After that,we ordered kunefe desert. I am eating kunefe, also cooking kunefe, since 2009. It is my favourite desert. I can say that was the worst kunefe I ever eat. I have never seen kunefe with creme fraiche on the top. As far as I know, kunefe it s served with icecream, not creme fraiche(the cheapest one,you can taste the butter very strong). Probably they run out of icecream and put creme fraiche on the top. Which taste awful. After deserts they asked who want turkish tea.We said all that we want,so 15 turkish teas. We only received 9. When I asked again that we still want 6 teas, the waiter never came back. We waited, waited, waited after our teas until the manager started to come and to watch us,probably to leave asap as they want to free the table for another customers. I totally paid aproximatley £450 . Was the most expensive dinner and the worst one in my life. Definitely we are not coming back here ever. It is nothing to compare this restaurant with the turkish restaurants from Haringey Green Lanes. The food is overpriced for what you receive. They are not lack of staff, but the staff is ****. They are too busy on saturdays and do not know how to manage everything. They do not care about customers, their only goal is to make more money. I would not recommend this restaurant.Ah,I forgot to mention that I spent all my night in the loo, having diarhea."

"last night me and friends visited Sahara grill. From the beginning the atmosphere of restaurant was very welcoming and pleasant. Until we had ordered our food. the waiter(Imran)who took our order clearly misread his own notes and had forgotten he had even taken our order....We waited over an hour for the food when customers who arrived after our arrival were ready for desserts. Waiter was asked by us to bring the starter first which even took an hour to come, and had to be reminded about our order. waiter(Imran) approached our table and apologized for the wait and had informed us the steaks have been put on the grill and will be with us in 5mins, when the steaks had arrived we had to wait extra 5mins while steak was infront us getting cold. waiter(Imran) had to be continuously reminded about our cutlery due to them being inexperienced and forgetful and cutlery arrived atleast 5 minutes after our food arrived. Now on to the food, they had made our steaks rare when clearly we had ordered medium well.. When informed the manger (Abdul Rehman) instead of correcting the order The manager assured me that it’s medium well and tried to educate me And friends like this was the first time we were having medium well steak, when we explained and showed him the steak to him it's clearly rare he took the steak to chef and tried to justify the steak being medium when he realised we knew the difference between medium well and rare he had informed us he would check the reciept if we ordered rare or medium well, once he had checked and it clearly stated medium well he informed us it clearly stated medium well as soon as manager realised he had made a mistake his body language changed and went away from our table without even solving the issue. not once did he admit the error by the staff or even apologize for there mistake instead he tried to sway the problem so he does not have to deal with it. It has to be the worse experience from a brand like Sahara grill.. It's sad to see how in this place customer are never right and they are bulletproof from making errors. Should re-train staff and manager has no credibility to be a manager if he doesn't know how to face and solve a problem and try to talk to his customers as they are wrong without even understanding and clearly seeing the facts. I have been going to this place for years however this was an extremely disappointing experience wouldn't recommend to anyone unless service is improved rapidly."

"Went in for a quiet drink and a pizza. Food hadn’t arrived after half an hour, so I asked at the bar. Two minutes later the pizza chef slams a pizza down on my table and shouts “it’s not one hour why are you lying?”. I clarified that I’d said at the bar that it’d been half an hour. He didn’t listen, again shouting “it’s not one hour”. I said again “I spoke to bar staff, I told him half an hour”, “NO, YOU SAID ONE HOUR!” I said “you’re actually being really rude now”, he again said “why are you lying? Wasn’t even half an hour” so I told him where he could stick his pizza and went to the bar for a refund. As I was talking to bar staff, the chef followed me, shouting “it’s not one hour! It’s not one hour”, and I told him he’s “f ing rude”, and he became threatening “don’t you swear at me”, actually fronting up to me as if he wants a fight. I’m 42 and haven’t had a fight since school! I spoke to staff and they refunded my pizza. I said “I think you should refund my drink it’s half finished and your chef is very rude”. The staff member pretty much laughed in my face and said “you’ve drunk it though right?” as if I’m trying to get a free alcohol free beer for the fun of it. “We can’t give you a free drink, it’s a different company, the chef is nothing to do with me” as the chef stands across the bar glaring at me. Eventually I manage to speak to someone senior, who refunds the drink and pretty much rolls her eyes at the chef “I’ll have a word, he can be like that sometimes” Wont be going back there"

"It is with a heavy heart that I shall not be returning to Marmelo Kitchen. I've had several brilliant brunches and evening meals there, but the place has completely gone downhill. At brunch today my boyfriend ordered the chicken. A very small quarter came out that was hot on the outside and stone cold in the middle. I tried a bit and immediately spat it out on my plate frightened of food poisoning. We told the waiter, and the chicken was taken away, to be replaced. We were amazed when the same bit of chicken minus the piece I had spat out was returned to us a few minutes later (presumably after being put in the microwave). It is incredibly dangerous to reheat chicken unless it has been completely cooled and then reheated and I don't believe there could have been time for the chef to have put it in the microwave, turn it halfway, check the temperature in the middle with a thermometer and return it to our table in the few minutes the incident took. I asked the waiter to take the chicken away again saying we didn't want it. He was very apologetic, asked if we wanted anything else, we said we didn't, we would just share my meal. Then the woman who seemed to be in charge came over and without a hint of an apology said she thought we just wanted the chicken warmed up. I said it should seem obvious we would want a replacement. Unperturbed, she just said no problem (her meaning being as in, no problem we didn't want the reheated food that hadn't been properly cooked in the first place). Also worth noting that the fresh fruit juice is no longer squeezed fresh at the restaurant our orange juice was nothing more than what you get from an upmarket supermarket none of the froth that comes with freshly squeezed juice. The glasses are also very small at £2.50 each, the size has been reduced from what it used to be. Again, the coffees are much smaller but still to die for, I shall miss them very much! My sausage and egg muffin was delicious, no complaints there, I really enjoyed it, and my only complaint was sharing it with my partner so he didn't go hungry. I want to make very clear that the young man who served us apologised several times about the chicken, acted in a most professional manner, and clearly understood why we were perturbed. The woman in charge really needs a refresh or maybe a beginner's training course in customer service. The risk of food poisoning is a very serious one, especially how popular the place is with young families and pregnant women! Marmelo Kitchen is now so popular that it's hard to get a table (good for them, but if you can't cope then reduce the number of tables), they run out of food on the menu within an hour or two of opening, and I feel very .sorry for the staff who are rushed off their feet and seem to be very badly managed. I've recommended this restaurant to dozens of people. I am now rectifying that with this review. There are lots of great places to eat in the area and new ones opening all the time. Try somewhere else which has the business capability to serve all covers with safe food, and has the humanity to apologise when things go wrong. Once again, thank you to the young man who served us who did his best to make it up to us. Hence our still leaving a tip. Needless to say it shall be my last visit to Mamelo Kitchen."
