"I wasn't that keen on the food tbh , it was ok and cooked well , fairly large portions, but I don't know , I dont think the ingredients were the best if I'm completely honest.. nice enough service, though, and the price was reasonable , parking was a little bit tricky but not impossible"

"I haven't eaten in The Chequers since my student days, but hearing that there was a new family friendly team in the kitchen and the promise of two courses for under a tenner the family headed off for Sunday Lunch. It's a sign of a wise kitchen when the menu options are limited it means that they are focused on doing a few things well rather than churning out mass meals just to make money. Sunday options are limited to Roasts and our choices were Beef Pork or Chicken (although one got the sense from the very friendly kitchen staff) that had you wanted a bit of everything that would have been no bother. Food came quickly but was clearly fresh and unmicrowaved. Generous portions perfect Roast Potatoes and a good selection of vegetables. Clearly a success as very early on our 20 month old was demanding more carrots and our fussy 6 year old had demolished her potatoes and her swede and carrot mash something that may have been more of battle at home. Plates cleared and grumbles of being too full for pudding were soon forgotten when the banana split arrived, a glorious throwback dessert clearly created with love and a generous spoon. We all left full and smiling and that is all you can ask of a Sunday lunch. We will be back and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good old fashioned home cooked food."

"We went to my favourite place to go out with our 2 7 year old girls for my birthday with my other half’s parents. I love this place because they are so relaxed with children, they have kids colouring books pens the 2 year old can just get down walk about as it’s very safe cosy, I can keep an eye on her no one bats an eyelid! This place is fantastic with yummy home cooked food, excellent service of course their scrummy home made ice creams sorbets. This meal was even more enjoyable than usual because all the staff were their usual super friendly selves to us our girls but one lady in particular was just over above awesome with our 2 year old. She encouraged her to eat her food with the promise of ice cream she took her off to choose it. She also noticed when I was struggling to eat because the 2 year old was being a pickle carried her off to distract her for me (she always asked my permission to pick her up take her off by the way! . This lady was just so wonderful caring my usual shy 2 year old with strangers really took to her. The other fab lady also knew it was my birthday surprised me with a candle in my dessert this place is just brilliant to go to as they really care about your experience there nothing is too much trouble. You must go!"

"I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. I tried the lamb that had been marinated for 36 hours and it was absolutely delicious. The bratkartoffeln and the dessert were also excellent. I usually like to add different sauces to my food, but the meal was so tasty that I didn't feel the need to. As someone with celiac disease, I require gluten-free options and the chef was able to accommodate me with a gluten-free entrée and a special dessert. I can't wait to come back to this restaurant."

"Awfull just awfull used to be your average Chinese takeaway but what i got on the 28th August can’t even be described as food we had the mixed starter for 2 prawn toast was burned chicken was tasteless and rubbery seaweed had no salt was...like eating confetti rib had chunk of white fat and tiny bit off tasteless meat to be fair chicken curry was OK but the rice was disgusting hard and lumpt together spring rolls were sort of gooey with a string of something green in the middle (unidentifiable) never ever get take out from here again"
