good food (lecker schnitzel and other good food) to cheap trips in a beautiful old building. excellent atmosphere and friendly service.

Catered for a party of 12 without booking, located in the rear garden, attentive staff, good choice of beers and wines, food was very nicely presented with it tasting equally good, recommend and will return in the coming months

If you're in Buxtehude you HAVE to book in here in fact, if you're just near take a detour to visit! We are very grateful to them for squeezing us in a table of 10 on a busy Friday night. have been here a few time and it's always nice to eat in an old world charm with really good food and friendly helpful staff. if possible try and get a table upstairs but mind your head.... low ceiling .one of the oldest building in...Buxtehude. After you have enjoyed a really good meal just next door is a nice wine bar to finish the evening.

A cozy house right next to the church dating back to the 16th century houses the Abthouse. Famous for its Schnitzels which a absolutely recommend. It’s lake a journey in time when you enter. The staff is young and friendly, the prices are reasonable and...the food is good. But you go there for the building mainly. Don’t miss it when in Buxtehude.

homey and vintage ambiente in an almost 500 year old house, friendly and instant service the first look in the menu was discouraging: carving for more than € 20? ok, I took the cheaper abbotage for € 18. that was excellent. I never had a more delicious 3-type steak combination with chip potatoes and an ingenious sauce with mushrooms, wow and speck! it could not be better. I'm coming back! Ver carta

The small quaint restaurant built in the late 1600’s is amazing. We chose the combination meal for €31. Your choice of a starter or soup, a main entree and a dessert. The wienerschnitzel was thin, tender and delicious. The side salad was full of fresh...vegetables and lettuce with a tasty dressing. The side was sliced fried potatoes with bacon and onions. My choice for dessert was the chocolate cake and ice cream. Come hungry because this is a lot to eat. The server was great overcoming my lack of German. The do have an English menu.

we live in a nearby town harsefeld, and our host proposes to spend time with buxtehude. the city is the old world, scenic stone walks and walks with plazas filled with tables for the evening. my surprise was to find abbotage, it was the...front of the building that sat me to the seaman on the bank. we went in and were warmly welcomed to sit in the open on the terrace in the back dining room. our meal was just the final touch of sightseeing in buxtehude. we ordered frying beef, perfectly prepared with salad and the most tasty potato and ordered filet of fried fish, tender and juicy with kartoffeln. our dessert was walnutis with an amazing chocolate mousse cake. many thanks to chef, staff and...

My wife and I sat down to excellent Schnitzel here recently. The atmosphere was very 'gemutlisch '. The air was filled with delicious smells and warm laughter. It 's definitely warmer down in the main room. The upstairs is a little cooler and quieter but you 're going...to have to duck a bit if you 're over 5 '8! The food was delicious. Our server was a little inexperienced and possessed no English at all (which isn 't points against, but my German is poor, so as a tourist in a tourist town I always appreciate a little help with the wine list or the specials of the day).
