"My wife and I ate at this 1* Michelin restaurant on the edge of Grasse in Maganos last night, and it is by far the best new discovery in the Côte d’Azur we have come across this summer. The restaurant is family owned and operated, featuring Sébastien Giraud as the head chef and his wife Madame Giraud as the maître d’. The location offers a beautiful view down through the valley of Grasse, and it is relatively quiet even though it is on a main artery into Grasse from the east. There are only 15 or so covers, and this – in my opinion – is a benefit to patrons both in terms of quality of food and service. The food was absolutely excellent. It is not fussy per se, but features local seasonal ingredients, which is obvious from the first dish. It is creative as well, but not in a way that gets in the way of the taste of the food. On offer is either a 3- or 4-course dinner, at prices of €39 and €55. For quality of the experience, this is outstanding value. Wines are readily available by the bottle or glass, with the latter offerings well-matched with the food and not “over-the-top” expensive. I had fresh tomato and crabmeat starter, followed by the turbot, then a smoked chicken in a lovely broth, and a marvellous finisher, opting for cheese rather than desert. The cheese was special, in that it was a creamy and rather light cheese mousse with summer truffles. All dishes are modest in size and prepared with seasonal (and locally-sourced) ingredients, garnished in a way that makes the flavours come to life. Nothing about the food was disappointing! The service was also excellent, with Mdm Giraud assisted by her very capable son in serving diners. Both French and English are spoken. There is no air at all about this place, which is casual and inviting. With outstanding food, excellent service, a pleasant ambience, and good value, Au Fil du Temp is one of the best finds in this region I have come across in some time, and I highly recommend it."

This is our third or fourth visit to this hidden gem. Wonderful inventive cookery, an inspired menu (you don't know what you will get - it is up to the whim of the chef - though you tell him what you cannot eat ahead of time). Attentive service and a short but interesting wine list makes this a memorable evening.

Whilst it may be daunting to visit a restaurant with no apparent menu, the hosts check you have no allergies to be considered or any food you particularly dislike. After this it is a fantastic gastronomic experience. After delicious amuse bouches, we had 4 delicious, individual courses which displayed great culinary skill and the flavours were exquisite. A must if you visit this area. We let our hosts direct us to choose wines which complemented the food. Perfect.

Ten of us, as a family, slowly enjoy delicious course after delicious course chatting as we sit on the terrace overlooking the hills of Grasse. Pretty ideal A menu which catered for our individual needs, friendly service and a quality of food which was exceptional all contributed to a memorable evening. If service was a little slow that may part be due to our city lifestyle and part to the fact that this is a family run restaurant. However we endorse the reviews. This is a real find Ver carta

We enjoyed this restaurant very much! It was our first experience of a Michelin Star Restaurant and it did not fail to exceed our expectationsFrom the moment we rang to make a reservation the service was attentive. Every course was well described when presented to us and we never felt out of place. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and showed an interest in us.We went for the 4 courses but also added cheese. We loved the surprise element of the meal. The highlight for us was the Filet Mignon. Just fantastic! Could not recommend enough. Amazing value for money. A real treat

We were staying in the area - and we chanced upon this unprepossessing gem. The ambience is calm and relaxing, the service from Delphine attentive and informative, and the food, cooked by her husband, Sebastien, outstanding. It looks beautiful, tastes delicious, is inventive and interesting. As we ate our four 'surprise' courses plus amuse-bouche and pre-dessert, accompanied by recommended wines, we kept saying that this place should have a Michelin star - and it does! Stunning value. Delphine commented that running Au Fils du Temp is 'not work, it is a pleasure' - and it shows. Highly recommended.

We were staying within walking distance of the restaurant, so it was a no brainier to try the 1* Michelin restaurant at the bottom of the road. Well we were not disappointed, a delightful experience from start to finish. The service was personal, low key but informative about the menu and dishes. Having said what few dislikes we had then the menu was a voyage of discovery - we had the four course option. Everything perfectly cooked and presented - as it should be at this level. The decor is very pleasant - we ate indoors as the night was chilly, but there is a nice terrace for warmer days. All-in-all a great restaurant for the foodies amongst us. Ver carta

Well worth a visit - great gastronomic experience sitting above Grasse. You simply choose the number of courses you want (3, 4 or 6) and indicate any food you won't eat and the courses come out as a surprise. Terrace is on the road in the hills, but few cars after 830pm so a really lovely spot. Wine selections are recommended by the glass at only 8 euros for the courses. The restaurant is family run ( dad in kitchen and wife and son front of house) and it only has around 20 covers. Presentation and flavours were amazing and prices reasonable for food of this quality (80 euros for 6 courses). This place is for some reason below the radar and I stumbled upon it on the Michelin app, but highly...

This was my first visit to this charming little restaurant run by husband and wife team; Delphine and Sebastien. The restaurant seats on the terrace around 16 covers. The menus are a 'surprise' costing between €35>€75 depending on the number of courses. My wife and I had the four course €55 menu. The starter was a wonderful courgette flower arrangement, stuffed with wild herbs-just divine. Second course a local fish, oblade, served with green pea mousse, third course was a delicate slice of veal with a medley of local vegetables. For dessert we had coffee millefieulle ice cream. We had a bio red wine to accompany our meal. This restaurant really does serve authentic cuisine with an innovative...
