Ban Thai - Carta

We visited here last week when we were in France staying with family. It had been recommended. The staff were great and very friendly and the food was gorgeous.

I think this place closed, or if they didn't call before you go. I've tried to go several times since August and every time they have the shutters drawn. Sad, because they are yummy.

This restaurant is run by a couple, I think and the Thai lady is making sure the taste is always up to standard. She was so friendly that she told me some tips for cooking Thai food when I was paying at the counter. Ver carta

We have been eating here for years now and it never disappoints, fast and attentive service, great dishes made with genuine ingredients. We tried several thai restaurants and this one certainly is one of our favourite ones so far.

Crowded restaurant; we were lucky to get a table. Atmosphere nothing special, but very good food. Loved the red chicken curry; not too spicy hot so that the flavours were not killed by too much heat. Would recommend to all who enjoy Thai food. Warning:...portions are large. We shared a starter and each had a (huge) bowl of soup then shared the curry.

We had dinner in this restaurant in Montpellier recently. The food was great in general, my mother and fiance were very happy with there dishes. I was less impressed as I'd had pad thai in many places and this was not my favourite but perhaps...it was personal taste. The desserts were not great but Thai food is not known for it's desserts/ Overall I would recommend this restaurant as a nice Thai food experience. Ver carta

This is one of our favourite Montpellier restaurants when we want an inexpensive spicy experience. Deep fried prawns (Koung Choub Peng Tod) sets the scene but if you like it really hot, the raw wild prawns with Thai chill peppers are excellent. Lovely soups which...are a meal in themselves. We love Pad Ped Kob curried frogs legs with fresh ginger,Thai basel and green pepper corns. Good daily menus at reasonable cost. Small but good wine list. Casual friendly service.

What a lovely find this was. One of a number of ethnic restaurants in this small atmospheric square. We sat down on the terrace outside but things did not start well. Only table was occupied but the girl told us we had to reserve....However a quick chat with the owner, all was fine and it was all great from then on. Good choice of Thai favourites and done very well. We had Beef Salad, which was fresh and zingy, and Chicken Satay, nice sauce, followed by Massaman, great choice, bigger portion than I have ever had before, servings from it! and Red curry prawn. Sauce a bit watery compared to mine. Stickiest sticky rice ever had. The insects? We didn't brave it but if you ever fancy a mixed plat...

I really don't understand how this restaurant can get so many positive reviews. We stood at the door waiting to be seated for at least minutes, and two waitresses walked by us and looked at us for at least times without saying hi....We finally sat down by ourselves and waited for another minutes, before we got too hungry and literally grabbed one waitress to pass our order. She was obviously not happy that we disturbed her, which might explain the next minutes waiting without any food arriving. We finally decided to give up and walk away.
