"We were celebrating a 40th birthday for my son 6 people in total. We ordered whilst having drink outside in the garden. However, when our food arrived there were several issues: 1. I had to remind the staff that my starter came with Fig Chutney it had been forgotten. 2. It was assumed that white toast would be my choice with my pate I should be asked as many people have intolerance to white bread 3. The Prawn Cocktail was very basic 4. Worse of all they forgot one of the £35 Sirloin Steaks!! Surely it's not difficult to know when there are 6 people present that it's likely to be 6 main courses. We were told it was being done but the issue is that it not only needs cooking but it needs to rest too my son who's birthday it was knows that is correct. So instead we would get a quickly prepared steak and at £35 no thanks!! All in all the experience was pretty poor. We won't be rushing back!"

"Not local to this area, I chose this restaurant from the consistently excellent Tripadvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. For starters we had the salt pepper squid, which was tasty and cooked just right. For our main courses we had Lamb Bunny Chow and Cyder battered fish chips. The fish was haddock, my preference, which was moist and very nicely cooked in a light crispy batter which wasn’t greasy. The accompanying side dish of onion straws was lightly seasoned and very nicely cooked, which made them very tasty. The Lamb Bunny Chow was very tasty, and such a large portion, that we took the unfinished remains home with us. The vanilla crème brulee was delicious and had the light crispy top that a brulee should have. The service was very good, from friendly and helpful staff. We had a table for two with two funky comfortable wing backed chairs. It was quiz night, but we had considerately been placed in an area separate to the main quiz area, so that we were not overpowered by the event. However, we did have a go at answering the questions ourselves, which was fun. The overall décor is a rustic style, with comfortable dining chairs which I appreciate. We will definitely visit again when next in the area."

"We had a wonderful dining experience at Passorn Thai Restaurant in Shalford. The restaurant was fully packed when we arrived for our 7:15pm reservation, with every indoor table occupied. Despite the busyness causing a slight delay in food arrival, the delicious meal was worth the wait. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Parking is available on the road leading to the station, in front of the restaurant, or up Chinthurst Lane, just a short walk away. We highly recommend dining in at this restaurant."

"What a magical place to dine, drink with family!!!!Absolutely worth every penny and more! "The pub is renowned for its amazing selection of ales ciders. Usually about 10 12 draft ales. Also it is the home of Godalming Beer Works, who brew some very good ales. Try First Light, it is so well balanced. The food is also fantastic! Their large selection oif burgers has something for everyone (I had the Mexican, with home made chilli, mashed avocado, sour cream jalapenos YUM! . I should also mention that all burgers come with dressed salad, coleslaw, red cabbage slaw and their amazing triple cooked chips. These chips are very crunchy on the outside and light fluffy on the insides. Having eaten at the Hand Flowers in Marlow, I can honestly say that the triple cooked chips served at The Star are definitely superior to those of Tom Kerridge's award winning chips which were soggy."
