The Cyder House Inn

Very friendly staff, place was full as it was Fathers Day , but we were served quickly and the food was excellent and not overly expensive. I will certainly be visiting again.

We had a spur of the moment lunch at the cyder house today and as always we were not disappointed. James was very attentive as always , the food was delicious. We have booked again already

Wonderful stop at the end of our holiday. Lucky with September sun so sat on the terrace. Service was excellent and the food so fresh and tasty. The Menu was unusual and it was hard to choose. Hope to come back one day

Not the cosiest of country pubs, no blazing log fire etc. It was very quiet during our lunchtime visit, which didn`t improve the atmosphere. Our snack lunch consisted of rather bland Smoked Salmon Fishcakes, a pint of very tasty Tongham Tea 4.2% and a G&T.

This was our first time at this pub and it didn't disappoint. The service was amazing and we didn't have to wait long for our food considering it looked like a busy Saturday evening. The food was amazing we got the vegan burger and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had! Will definitely be returning again soon.

What a simply wonderful find, tasteful deco lots of little nooks to be with family and friends but not pokey. The service was simply the best, all the staff kind, happy to chat if you wanted and helpful … and managed the menu to suit fussy eater too. I wished we lived closer … it might be a bit out of the way but this was simply the best restaurant/pub meals we have had in years.

Went with a friend at the end of October on a Thursday evening which turned out to be the pubs Steak Night and Oh my goodness what a find....the steaks were the best ever... so juicy and tender and cooked to perfection! Vowed to go back with my husband which I did last week..it 's now his and mine go to steak place . Booked to go again this week to celebrate a friends Birthday. The menu had an excellent choice of other meals too that I will definitely try if I can tear myself away from the steak ! The pub was warm and very welcoming and both times all of the tables were full so probably best to book in advance. Good selection of beers and obviously ciders- being The Cyder House! What a superb place! Not your average village pub. We visited for a late Saturday lunch after a long hike in the countryside with our dog. Very friendly and welcoming place, with a “nice” section as well as a more relaxed and dog friendly pub side. A good range of beers obviously with quite a few ciders including some local ones. The food includes pub classics and steaks but also some interesting and unusual dishes. We especially liked the Korean bbq chicken wings starter, the South African lamb curry and the sea bass served with fennel and spiced potato, but the burger was also good. Not local to this area, I chose this restaurant from the consistently excellent Tripadvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. For starters we had the salt pepper squid, which was tasty and cooked just right. For our main courses we had Lamb Bunny Chow and Cyder battered fish chips. The fish was haddock, my preference, which was moist and very nicely cooked in a light crispy batter which wasn’t greasy. The accompanying side dish of onion straws was lightly seasoned and very nicely cooked, which made them very tasty.
