After a day that involved an emergency dentists appointment and a broken down car decided a little treat was in order for tea tonight and as always the Birds Nest didn't disappoint.

This Chinese takeaway is fantastic! The selection is excellent, the food is flavorful and not greasy at all. We were pleasantly surprised by how good it is and have visited multiple times. Highly recommended! Ver carta

Living in Wirksworth, we are fortunate to have access to a fantastic Chinese take-away restaurant. The service is quick and prices are reasonable. The ingredients, especially the meat, are fresh and of top-notch quality. A visit to this establishment is highly recommended for those craving authentic oriental cuisine.

I telephoned my order through and collected in 15 minutes later. The food is tasty and a good price. Lots of other people were collecting their orders and phoning them through while I was there, its a busy but well organised takeaway. They offer a good varied menu to suit all tastes including English options. They are open Tuesday -Saturday 5pm onwards.

We’ve been ordering from this takeaway at least three times a month for the last three years. The quality of food is consistently excellent and we’ve never had any disappointments. The staff are lovely and friendly, the service is quick and the flavours are varied and delicious. Our favourites are salt and pepper chips, special curry, chow mein and wandering dragon. Ver carta

We've been using the Birds Nest for a Sunday evening takeway now for a couple of years. We've always been satisfied with the price/quality. Last Sunday I made a fairly standard order salt and pepper squid, beef chop suey and beef curry. It was so far below average I could only describe it as bad. Tasteless, poorly prepared and a culinary mess. Is this temporary or has some basic changed following your closure ?

I have been getting takeout from this restaurant for over thirty years, but last night was a letdown. The satay duck dish had more onions than anything else, the salt and pepper chips were soggy and tasted like they had been soaked in water for too long, and the special chow mein had a strange taste as if it had been cooked with cleaning product. This was a surprising experience from a restaurant that I have always spoken highly of to my loved ones. It was not what I am used to and I was completely disappointed.

A quick Sunday evening takeaway as the usual local pub I eat at when staying up here was closed due to Covid. SO I thought I would try a Chinese as it was not too far to drive. The food was very good indeed, no greasiness at all. Perfectly cooked Singapore Fried rice noodles with just the right heat of fresh chilli and they were happy to leave out the onions (there could have been just a little more meat and prawns in it? to get excellent rating) .. the fried rice was good too. Next time I am in the area I will certainly try them again for a change. Ver carta
