In terms of cost, expect to spend around £30–40 per person. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Mini Apple Crumble with Custard and the Roast Dinner. There is plenty of parking available, with a free parking lot option.

I went to lunch with my family, and we enjoyed some delicious roasted dishes that were full of flavor. The service was excellent, which made our experience even better. We loved the view of the canal, although we chose to sit inside due to the not-so-nice weather today. Overall, it was a great visit!

We had a wonderful evening by the canal, enjoying exceptional food and delightful service. We sampled several starters, including tomato and basil soup, duck parfait, prawns, and scallops, along with one main course: the fish cakes. This lovely gastro-pub is located in the charming historic area of Milton Keynes. Every server we encountered was incredibly friendly, and our drinks were quickly served and regularly checked on. The food was excellent and fairly priced. The drink prices were reasonable, and I highly recommend trying the sticky toffee pudding—it’s a must! One small downside is that the road sign outside needs a brighter light; it’s hard to spot the entrance at night. Overall, it’s a beautiful place worth visiting!

Had a great experience here with both the food and the service! Really good quality home cooked food and attentive service from the staff that work here. Although we didn't have a reservation we were very easily accommodated in the pub area, as the menu is the same irrespective of where you are sitting which is a really good thing! Pity it wasn't sunnier as the pub is situated right by the canal and has lots of outdoor seating to take advantage of really nice weather. Would definitely recommend a visit here if you're looking for traditional home cooked food that is really good quality.

my partner and I went to dinner last night in black horse. it was our first to eat since januar and I am so glad that we decided here, it felt like such a luxury. from the moment we were there, we couldn't blame. the atmosphere was great and the personal was welcoming. our waitresses for the night, julie and vicky made the experience even more pleasant for us. They were attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and really added to our experience. concerning eating, it was the best we had and everything about it was just extraordinary.
