Great service and food. We brought our dog who sat next to us in the bar. Wine and flavoured gin selection could be improved on. Irrespective we had a lovely evening and will be going back!

what a jewel of a place. hidden in shipston on stour. old fashion pub, good friendly service and fantastic Thai cuisine to cheap trips. traditional ales and a beautiful glass New Zealand sauvignon blanc served by the glass. what more can they want..

this Thai restaurant is a hidden gem and is located in the black horse inn. that is the second time that we visited at a weekend and I really wished it was in front of our doorstep. eating is amazing, so tasty and service. was fantastic. I can't expect to visit again.

We were visiting family in Shipston so we were pleased that the cider festival could go ahead this year. They had a good choice of beers, ciders and wines and the barbecue was great. The band was great and added to the atmosphere. This is...a great local pub with a lovely beer garden.

This pub does amazing Thai! It has an extensive menu and the food was better than we’ve had in many Thai restaurants. We had the crispy duck to start with and then an oyster chicken and a spicy chicken stir fry dish. Both were excellent...and it was clear that they were freshly cooked and good quality ingredients. The garden at the back is large and comfortable and has plenty of shade and is a nice place to sit. The service was very friendly too. It’s great to be able to eat food that is not the usual pub menu and to take your dog with you too. Will definitely be back.

My wife and I were visiting Shipston on Stour for the first time, and I consulted Tripadvisor reviews regarding recommended eating locations. As we love Thai food I chose The Black Horse Inn, wondering what it would be like! We couldn't have been more delighted!!...The menu is extensive with ample choices for all, and we each chose different dishes, following having had the shared platter. The service was cheerful, the presentation was delightful, the food was piping hot, and the tastes were very Asian! We would certainly recommend their Thai food and look forward to a possible future visit.

We were staying at The lazy pug for days also in Shipston on Stour and this place was recommended to us as we love Thai food.It's a lovely thatched pub on a housing estate.We hadn't even realised it was there till we were told...as we hadn't walked round that area before.We were pleasantly surprised on getting there.It's a typical old pub,lovely inside.We sat in the dining room.They also have outdoor seating at the front and back.The menu is huge,lots to choose from.The food aswell as the service is great.We had crispy parcels and hot and sour soup for starters followed by Singapore noodles,phed pad and prawn crackers.The best Thai food we've ever had.This place I would definitely recommend...

Believe it or not, our recommendation for this gorgeous century inn came from a table mat! My parents have a set of famous English pubs' placemats and this is one of them. As we happened to be in the area, visiting the superb Cotswolds...Distillery, we thought we'd better try it. The Black Horse serves Thai food. A lot of pubs that are converted into restaurants lose their pub character altogether and I was a bit concerned that the Black Horse might be one of them. However, I am delighted to say that the bar and lounge areas still represent a good, traditional English pub with a cosy atmosphere and, by all appearances, a thriving trade entirely separately from the restaurant.
