We stopped at this restaurant on our way to our campsite after a long drive. Despite not being officially open, they still served us drinks and were accommodating.

Fantastic country pub that ticks every box in my opinion and then some! The staff are friendly and went the extra mile to look after me and my family and of course the food and beer is superb! Ver carta

my wife and I are never disappointed when we visit this wonderful pub. the personal is first-class service and the menu always changes with the seasons. the chef is the first price in our book. top all with beautiful environment. they will not be disappointed.

found this little gem in the internet as visiting a customer close when I asked where I was stopping, he told me how good this place is. if we stopped now, this place is not good, it is absolutely fantastic. the rooms in pub eating and the staff are simply fantastic. I keep in many hotels pubs throughout the country and must say that this is the best thing I have ever stopped. Ver carta

I'm not lying when I say this has produced the best food I've eaten for a long time. yesterday I was the first time I ever visited this pub and it will not be the last. I visited with mama and papa for a meal, we were mistakenly open 15 minutes before the pub, but the staff was so nice that they let us in and served us drinks. I really can't express how good it was to eat. I really recommend the two appetizers that we had that were the Scottish and the camembert that were simply defined!

Stayed here on the 22nd March having driven down from the North East for a meeting. I cannot speak highly enough about this lovely place. Unspoilt charm of a beautiful old pub, fantastic food and a warm welcome from lovely staff. The newly refurbished rooms are lovely too and quiet as they are separate to the main pub. To finish the smoked salmon on toast with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce was a nice alternative to the usual full English, which was also available. Will definitely be back. A real gem of a place.

We stopped off at Blackboys Inn on our way home. We didn't book, luckily they had a table to seat four of us on a busy Sunday afternoon. The staff were pleasant and and accommodating. We had the smoked fishcake with fries, fried loin of cod with pesto and a duo of sausages, creamed potato and seasonal greens and gravy. The ladies toilets were very clean. The men's toilets smelt, our table was near the door. I've given 5 stars for the service and the food. Would definitely go back and not sit anywhere near the toilets. Ver carta
