"I had planned and plotted for over 2 years - to take my mom - who grew up in war torn Nurnberg in the late 40's - back there - along with my dad, my sister, and my son and nephew - it was no easy feat - but we all made it - after a wonderful cruise on the Danube from Budapest to Nurnberg - we arrived in mid-July and held a celebration dinner at Bohm's Herrenkeller - a restaurant I had selected from good reviews on TA. It was just around the corner from our Hotel - Drei Raben - which worked out perfectly - as my elderly mom cannot walk long distances - if you are staying at Drei Raben - be SURE to plan a dinner at Bohm'sI had made a reservation several months in advance, and confirmed by email on arrival in Nurnberg - and no disappointment - when we arrived at 7 pm - they were waiting for us, had a table overlooking the street ready - and made us feel most welcome. Our waiter was Alex and he was superb. Check out the photos - every single morsel of food and every drink was delicious! Special highlights included:- A special Burgerspital 2015 Gewurtztraminer - (German white wine - kind of sweet and funky - an acquired taste, perhaps - but my family has been enjoying this since I can remember) - my Dad bought 2 bottles in celebration - I think Alex was a bit shocked when we ordered the second bottle!- The flaming pot soup - my son had this as an appetizer - savory soup/stew in a bread bowl that arrives at the table aflame! both eye catching and tasty. - Both the roast pork and pork shoulder - absolutely mouth watering - the crackling savory caramelized outer skin/fat was perfectly crunchy and golden and just to die for.The sausages - perfect with the savory sweet kraut.- The potato dumplings - light and stick to your ribs all at once - seriously - JUST like my grandma used to make!- The beer - cool from the cellar in a traditional stone mug - I never felt so Bavarian.Perhaps the only thing not perfect about this meal was the room was very warm - they had the windows open to the street - but the place was humid and the air very still - I like it warm in a room generally - so I know many must have been miserable if I thought it was hot - but in this traditional old building I do not think they have central air - traditional and authentic - probably nice and cozy in cold weather (especially with all the hearty food!) - but if you go in summer - dress lightly. Desserts were delicious as well - my sister and I shared the "snowball"All in all the perfect German heritage celebration dinner for a family that grew up hearing our grandmother and Tantes (aunts) speak German in the home! For 6 of us - the bill was over 200 Euros - but a lot of that was for the 2 bottles of special vintage wine - overall entrée prices were very reasonable and portions were filling for sure. Highly recommended! Ask for Alex - he will make sure you have a wonderful dinner."

on the last day of our trip to nürnberg we have eaten in this great restaurant too evening. the menu is somewhat more varied than others and the kitchen is always excellent.

a small place near the center, which is more frequented by German than by tourist. you will find all the specialties suppen, sausage, shin, strudel. great courtesy of the staff. excellent price around the 20 euro. Ver carta

we were recently eating in bohemian. we had matjes and drunk. both courts were the bullshit! the buzzing makes it easy in the top 5 I have eaten so far. the meat was super delicate and much regular from the bone. the service was always friendly. we'll be back.

We have eaten dinner at this restaurant twice (so far) this week. Both times have been excellent. The hearty German meals are tasty and filling. The cost is very reasonable and the ambience welcoming. Both the dunkel (dark) Kellerbier and the St Georgen Pils beers are very good. Well worth a visit if you are in the Nürnberg Altstadt.

small typical restaurant, tastefully decorated, very welcoming. the personal, as it may be, is not the best sympathy. we have eaten very well, with excellent light and dark beer. tasty pork with high digestible sour wort, tasty camembert with berries, suppe with very special laughs, warm berries with a wonderful ice. the calculation on 20 €. perfect. as proof of a coming round. the architecture of the restaurant is original and invites you to visit. the facility is then relatiw modest and did not fully meet our expectations. while eating the carving was quite ok, the grill cellar was somewhat modest and the meat was too fried. the red wine had estimated 25 degrees although it had been removed according to the operation just from the wine-climate cabinet....When visiting nürnberg we will surely try another good address.

Based on TA reviews, this is where my wife and I had our first meal in Germany. Still on US time, we showed up just before (dinner) opening time and found a short line ahead of us. We and the others were seated immediately. Our waiter spoke excellent English. I ordered the crackling roast pork shoulder (schaufele). It was unusual and very good. Surprisingly, it reminded me of something I had in Puerto Rico years ago. But don't order this if you want a light meal... The couple next to us was from Charlotte, NC, and we had a great time chatting with them and getting pointers for our first trip to the north of Europe. Most of the other patrons seemed to be locals. "The rain did not stop and now something was recommended for dinner. The Chinese were booked, we have another table in the Indian when we come. Sure. Reserves are useful here, tables are not long empty until guests are back. It's not far from the main station. The restaurant is located opposite the bus stop of Nuremberg. They thanked for the drink order and came to the table very quickly with friendly words. The food order was accepted when we closed the cards. Cleanliness tables are always erased in the same way, guests must wait a bit before the tables are replaced. We couldn't find anything negative in the restaurant.
