"Restaurant itself looks unappealing with takeaway packaging stacked floor to ceiling by the entrance and the whole place looks tired. Both the poppadoms and naan we're overcooked (base of naan was black). Bhuna sauce was watery and over large chunks of chicken meant that the meat lacked flavour. The food wasn't expensive but it certainly wasn't cheap as a takeaway. The whole experience felt like the staff have given up don't care. Won't be back, there are lots of better places."

"In the past I 've had some excellent meals from Ashiana with mixed results of service when having sat and eaten at the restaurant. Usually the flavour and quality is very good. However having just had a delivery order from them I was completely underwhelmed. The food turned up an hour and half before the due time (which I had set for a reason) and despite being early it was only luke‐warm. I told the delivery driver he was early, and all he could muster was a limp wristed sorry as if to imply there was no more care than that. I took delivery of the order as I knew full well the food would have either been left in a van or taken back to sit under heat lamps for another hour. Once I shut the door the driver knocked on it again to ask if I had paid, which if there was any kind of organisation at their end would of known I had paid online. The order was incorrect with the rice being mislabelled and the sauces were more water than sauce with no sign or mango in the mango chutney. The food was once again a mixed bag with some of it being of their usual quality and some just tasting bland. Maybe they will attempt to improve, however until they do I would not recommend. a watery"

"Tuvimos que cambiar nuestra reserva de antes del teatro a después del teatro, que se acomodó sin ningún problema. No nos dimos cuenta de cuánto tiempo habíamos pasado cenando, pero el personal tampoco nos apresuró a quedarse después de la hora de cierre. Nuestros requisitos dietéticos vegetarianos sin gluten fueron atendidos no solo del menú sino también por recomendación del chef que preparaba un plato especial de pimiento relleno. Disfrutamos muchísimo de la experiencia y volveremos si alguna vez en el área de Colchester nuevamente. También son parte del sistema Meerkat, que es la única razón por la que encontramos este restaurante y solo demuestra que también puedes elegir ir a algún lugar en una ciudad diferente en función de esa red de opciones. "At mid-day the choice of sandwiches on offer was very poor, no ham, cheese etcOnly left with Tuna. Handed a sandwich in a cardboard box which remined me of a Motorway service station.I was expecting a sandwich freshly made on site and not in some outsouced factory.There was no label on the packaging to show it was a Beth Chatto product.On opening there was so much Tuna inside it was oozing out of all sides.When I took my first mouthfull it dripped onto the table, getting a plate would have been to much to ask, It was absolutely Disgusting and Nauseating I was so hungry I removed the filling and just ate the breadI seem to recall the menu mention side Crips but they didnt materialiseThe queue to get served snaked around the seating area, chaoticI wont be paying £3.99 for a sandwich at Beth Chatto anymore, for this type of Petrol Station sandwich !"
