"Went in after a day of climbing at the local National Trust Park. Had the dog with us were searching for a local pub that welcomes dogs. We sat in a couple pubs but they didn’t serve food until 5-5:30 but this pub served food earlier which was great! The pub has a very welcoming owner good tunes on in the background. It had typical pub grub which looked nice but also a proper Greek menu which swung it for us as we tend to eat pretty healthily Greek food really suits this. Big portions, banging Gyros for main Baklava for dessert, both big a very nice. Great service provided with food with practically no waiting time! Couldn’t have asked for better :"

Had a very lovely experience today. They were doing Sunday roasts and they were very tasty. Sophie and Caitlin behind the bar were very helpful.

The staff were very kind. My boyfriend and I stopped by this restaurant to pass the time before catching our train back. A friendly woman working there told us about some Greek Islands we should consider visiting.

Super delicious authentic Greek food in the Shropshire Hills. Best pub meal for a long time. Succulent lamb and chicken slouvakia with salad, tasty pitta bread, tzatziki and crispy fries. Friendly service. Most enjoyable.

We visited the Bucks Head on Tuesday evening and were surprised to find there was a Greek menu. I had the stuffed kofta and my friend had the chicken gyros. We’re both absolutely gorgeous. The two ladies behind the bar were also very helpful, Caitlin and Joanna.

Just had a meal at the Bucks Head in Church Stretton. I had excellent service and good quality freshly cooked food with good portions. They also stock a good range of real ales and drinks and nothing was too much trouble. It was a very enjoyable meal in a friendly relaxed environment I will definitely go back.

Waited over an hour for overpriced tasteless food. Steak was impossible to cut, even the dog wasn't sure of it. Ordered a veg tart for my vegan/veggie partner and the cheese wasn't listed on the menu. Radio station played overhead with ads Included ruined the meal. £4 for 2 bits of garlic break was the line really. Fine for pub grub but way over priced.

amazing authentic Greek cuisine. the service was friendly and efficient and nothing was too much annoyed. the pub is dog-friendly and we have been shown a matching table. there is a good selection of animals caught, lagner and apfelsinen and snacks. Greek eating is absolutely brilliant. cooked with authentic ingredients from a Greek boil properly. If we approach, we'd be here every night. highly recommended. competitive.

"Pretty much the same as the previous review. We had booked for 2pm on a Sunday afternoon and turned up to see that the place was in darkness and locked up… this is despite the opening hours were 12pm until 10pm. So we knocked the door in hope that we would be able to go to our table. A guy it seemed was locked in from the inside and asked us through the window to knock the residents door next door (it seems we had woke them up). Eventually after a brief wait someone came down and opened up. We took our seats at the table and proceeded to order our food and drinks. When ordering our food, we were then asked if we wanted to write on the menu what we wanted!! (We obviously said no) Any normal restaurant would have a notepad and take orders but this wasn’t a normal restaurant! He then took our orders of which he decided to write down on the menu. After waiting 1/2 hr some of the food came out and did not meet expectations. The chicken soup was spilled everywhere when it came to the table and if it wasn’t for the reactions of the customer then it would of been all over his clothes. The crispy fried wantons were meant to be filled with chicken and prawns (according to the menu) but only had flavourings. The waiter could not explain why due to a language barrier between him and the chef. Things got worse when he started swearing and at this point people were still waiting for food 15 minutes after the others came. We told him we were leaving and to forget it. It’s only a matter of time before this place is closed. They can’t run a bath let alone a restaurant!"

"On arrival, the pub looked cute and cosy open early for breakfast, decent reviews it seems a place to get out of the snow! After sitting down for a few minutes we ordered breakfast coffee, all seemed fine until we heard ‘local regulars’ having a xenophobic, conversation with the waitress about refugees. This conversation took place as the waitress was behind the bar and the couple sat across from her at their table, and with no music playing no atmosphere at all actually) and no one else in the pub it was hard to hear anything else! Myself my partner felt very awkward, angry and extremely uncomfortable it was just loud enough to hear and as the only other people in there we couldn’t decide if this was the norm in this place, or if this was just a few ‘bad apples’ but they obviously didn’t seem to care that we could openly hear their conversation discussing refugees as if they were item? which makes me think it’s the norm here) Extremely harmful, especially given the tragic history of this place a lynching had taken place only 3 years ago) the continuous shocking racism that comes from their local MP Philip Dune. And this isn’t a personal ‘woke’ agenda as the business owner tried to suggest when we complained, ‘leave my agenda at the door’ we were told in the only google review the venue have seemed to respond too, quite worrying they are not trying to reassure us we had misheard but instead were very defensive and took no accountability) this is just the truth of this town information you could easily find on google when reviewing where to visit, which made this whole experience even more uncomfortable. Even if they were having a completely innocent conversation, why do they feel the need to do this over the bar to the customers and not have their own personal conversation at the table which we did not have to overhear? Are the staff too lazy to walk around to the table? It most certainly was not busy so there was no excuse for this whole situation to take place. It was our first time in this town and the whole thing was just really uncomfortable. You’d think the town a local business especially, would be doing all they can to separate themselves from such things. It’s a shame the energy and atmosphere doesn’t match the beautiful surroundings. I’d recommend avoiding, awkward xenophobic conversation aside the Veggie breakfast was very bland and basic, sausages had no flavour other than the sauce I put on them and my partners poached eggs were undercooked soggy"
