"A little bit disconcerting when the first thing you’re asked when you walk through the door is “do you have any allergies “ but I guess it’s best to get it out first. But then it’s another of these diy ordering places where you order from a website or at the bar. Should you have allergies you have to wait for a staff member to ask. My wine had sediment in it and I had to get it replaced speedily I have to say. The napkins had been put under the beers, which splashed on the way to the table and consequently were wet. Got the replacements at the end of the meal. My dish (Wan Chan Fried Rice bowl with Miso aubergine) didn’t have any chargeable add ins on the menu but when my husband ordered at the bar they asked whether we wanted chicken or bacon. The food was okay, nothing special I’m afraid, and small port"

Birthday drinks/food for my daughters birthday with friends and colleagues. Atmosphere perfect, friendly and very helpful staff.. think ? Billy was the manager who greeted us and wanted to make the evening nice and was so helpful. We all really enjoyed. Thank you so much. It was lovely. We will be back.

Nice bar foodie place. Had a sausage butty, coffee and cake at lunch. Sandwich was good but the cake was awful. Tasted a bit like it had soured and the bits on the top tasted a bit like plastic (in fact I had to have a look as was convinced that it was bits of plastic). Coffee was lovely as were the staff.

the decor is so beautiful that we love sitting in here just for coffee! we have eaten here a couple of times.. the food is nice but the last time we came there was no music playing so it was very awkward.. prices are okay and you can order from the app which is useful!! they have a nice outdoor space so for summer it’s lovely!! I went out for dinner with some fellow mums the other week and we were very pleased with the food and felt very welcome! Although, our waiter was so disrespectful! He was young, short, a bit on the scrawny side, and was so unprofessional! I am usually understanding of the young working part time, but this was too far for me to not complain! He was constantly chatting to other staff, ignoring us, and was quite arrogant! Our questions were met with short responses and he gave attitude throughout the meal.

We visited the Caballo Lounge for dinner a week or so before Christmas. It wasn’t too busy and there was a nice atmosphere. We’ve been to the lounge several times before for different meals and it’s always been pleasant but nothing to necessarily write about. On this occasion, and maybe because it was quieter than normal, we found everything to be a up a notch or two from the service (we ordered at the bar due to allergies and had various bespoke requests) to the food and had a really nice time. So thought it was worth a mention.

Caballo lounge is a great little restaurant in Epsom not far from the cinema car park. We usually bring our dog when we come as this place is completely dog friendly, but today she wasn’t with us. The very best thing about CL is the Nasi Goreng. It is absolutely delicious and comes with a fried egg on top, it is probably the nicest of this dish I’ve ever had. I highly recommend! The children’s menu differs from the usual and my children love the herby chicken. You order and pay via an app and the service is really quick. It’s great value for money and we will definitely be back. Ver carta

I have been to a few 'lounges ', sadly noticed all of them going down hill food quality wise. Headed here before going to a festival in the local area. Staff were polite did check in with us to check food was ok. We came for breakfast, which we regularly do at our local 'lounge '. The option I chose wasn 't great (The vegan sausage sandwich) May have been better with toasted bread. Nothing special about the trip but majority of the staff were very happy helpful. Wouldn 't go out of my way to visit again but IF I were to be in the area again I wouldn 't strike it completely off the list.

I love coming here with a friend or 2 to catch up because it’s always a nice chill atmosphere. The decor is quirky and the staff are always friendly (kudos to hiring manger . However I will say over the last few years the tapas portions have become smaller with a decreasing amount of pitta bread. I used to come and have surplus bread but now I’m wasting my guacamole and humus for the lack of bread a very minor inconvenience but still something that’s noted by me and my friends. Otherwise I can’t get enough of caballo lounge! Just take in to account if someone has more dip dishes in their tapas, they may need more bread :

"I visited my elderly Mum today, she suggested going to the Derby Arms for a roast dinner as she'd eaten there recently with my sister. However they were fully booked, so I looked online and found Galu. The reviews were great and my Mum has only ever heard good things from friends and neighbours. So I called and booked for 12:45 Sunday 21st Jan 2024. We were both pleasantly surprised to see roast dinners on the menu ... Mum order lamb and I ordered beef part of their set menu. When the dinners arrived, you could see straight away that the lamb was Very Fatty (not even crispy) when my my tried eating it, it was both tough and chewy! As for the beef, this was cooked ok and edible, although I asked for the beef to be medium, but it was more well done. The waiter came over to ask if the meal was ok, I highlighted how the lamb was... the manager then came over and offered my Mum a slice of beef to compensate, bearing in mind she ordered lamb. Mum subsequently found that some of her roast potatoes were hard inside! I finished my meal, but could see Mum really didn't enjoy hers leaving a substantial amount on her plate, and having tried her lamb it really was inedible! We were then offered a full list of desserts rather than the set menu, having chocolate brownie and creme brûlée (both were gorgeous) When the bill arrived, I was hoping they would have somehow made amends, but alas no ... as Mum doesn't like to cause a fuss and it was her treat, I decided not to say anything, although the staff manager could tell we weren't happy. Having come from East Sussex for the day and regularly have great Sunday roasts in local pubs, I was hoping for something special in this restaurant, but sadly that wasn't the case. In fact it's probably one of the worst roast dinners I've had in a long time. I very much doubt we'll return ..."
