"Nous avons choisi une table dehors et malheureusement nous avons dû attendre 1 heure et 15 minutes avant de recevoir les plats principaux (sans entrées). La pizza était remplie de salami et beaucoup trop salée, les fusillis étaient trop cuits et également trop salés. Le service était médiocre. On nous a donné des serviettes en papier alors que d'autres personnes avaient des serviettes en tissu... Finalement on a dû encore attendre 15 minutes pour l'addition. Par conséquent, je recommande pas du tout ce restaurant !"

"We're three normal eaters and we're gonna order the pig roast three times. The food was very good, but unfortunately there was only the pensioner part (1 dumplings with a super thin cut of fringes and delicious brown sauce for €13.90). After we had almost fed one mulde, we still had pleasure and hunger for another and ordered 3 dumplings. At a later glance, the price of €7.50 for three dumplings was already very negative. We had already eaten at lunch in a hut with which hunger can order, in no way be mentioned. Unfortunately, the middle forest owners tend to retire. People with normal hunger are not fed in the Gasthof Gries (1 dumplings a super thin piece of frit)!"

"I admit to being biased. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the options for German food are not as extensive as I would like, and I'm surprised that these days they haven't yet found a way to charge you for water and...cutlery. When I dine at a place like Postkeller, the value is just off the charts. There is almost a full menu of dinner options that cost less than an appetizer at some of the restaurants I visit back home. The portions at Postkeller are quite generous, and the food is very flavorful and delicious. And then there is the beer. Oh, the beer. In the San Francisco Bay area it is hard to find a taproom or brewpub where you can find a pint of draft craft beer for under often than not, you find a ounce pour of some beverage with odd fruit and spice flavors for At Postkeller you will have a wide range of beer choices for well under Euros for a half liter, and a number of options for under Euros. If you come between PM you can get a full liter of one of their beers for Euros. There are some good options to choose from. My wife and I went the other night. I tried two of their Edel Märzen beers. They were Euros each. My wife had the local Mittenwald Dunkel. Just terrific beers. My wife decided on a lighter meal, or so she thought. The omelette with mushrooms and cheese had to be at least three eggs. It came with potatoes and a side salad. This was under Euros. I had the Schweinshaxe (pork hock) with an extra salad. Those two items together were under Euros or less than at current exchange rates. You wouldn't be able to touch that price in the Bay Area. Places that do offer the dish back home don't produce a meal nearly as good. The total tab was under Euros. You are hard pressed to get two burritos and two agua frescas in the Bay Area for this amount. It is just a phenomenal value. I've spent over on dinners for two at home that weren't half as satisfying. There are many other restaurants in Mittenwald that serve similar food. I have been to quite a few of them. All of the ones I have tried serve excellent food at a similar price point, so if you are in the mood for traditional Bavarian food, you have many options. I will just say that all of them are excellent, and it is one of the reasons I have come to Mittenwald for over fifty years. I'm hoping I can make it over years."

"Hemos aprendido que una gran fracción de los restaurantes y las empresas en Mittenwald se lleva sus vacaciones en abril o mayo. Como resultado, muchos de los mejores restaurantes calificados no estaban abiertos. Tuvimos suerte con Gaststatte am Kurpark. Reabrió en nuestro último día completo en Mittenwald. El comedor estaba en gran parte vacío cuando llegamos, aunque había una tabla de clientes habituales en la parte posterior. La camarera era muy amable, los menús entregados, tomaron una orden de bebida y luego nos trajeron nuestras bebidas. Dado que el menú es bastante extenso y en alemán, se tomó un tiempo traducir las opciones de alemán al inglés y explicarlas a todos a mi esposa. Después de una espera considerable, que la camarera se disculpó por, pedimos. La sopa del tirolero Speckknödel era algo que quería intentarlo. La ensalada mixta que acompañó al plato tenía elementos muy bien contrastantes y era bastante sabroso. En general, pensé que ambos platos de almuerzo estaban bien preparados. A medida que almorzamos, algunos residentes locales vinieron y tenían una celebración de bodas. Se quedó claro que este restaurante tiene un fuerte siguiente local. El servicio podría haber sido un poco más atento, pero teniendo en cuenta que este fue el primer día de vuelta, puedo entender que hubo algunos fallos y una necesidad de pasar un poco de tiempo con clientes habituales. Sospecho que si regresamos mañana, ese aspecto habría mejorado. Como es, espero regresar durante mi próxima visita a Mittenwald y sentirse cómodo recomendando este restaurante a cualquiera que quiera un almuerzo o una cena de platos bávaros locales. También fue uno de los pocos que hemos cálido que tenía las ofrendas de pescado. Hay numerosas cervezas disponibles, y también algunas ofertas de vinos."
