Cafe Rouge Oxford - Menú

The first time here. We were greeted as if we were regular guests. Excellent unrequired service and first-class food.

Lovely restaurant with very friendly and helpful service. Great food menu available and good selection of beers and wines too!!

I was happy here every minute. Loved the atmosphere. Good service. Ordered vegetarian breakfast, it is delicious. Staff very friendly. Absolutely come back.

The chicken was tasteless, water was from a facet, these cooks have probably no idea what seasoning is and the cups were dirty. Just don't go here. I don't think we were served food at all, more like a styrofoam shaped like food.

The chicken was so dry it could be a part of a Sahara Desert. The so-called gravy (or I don 't know what the hell that was) sauce was a mix of soy sauce, a big spoon of salt and water mixed in an old trash can. The fries was the only good part here. Definitely avoid that one. No recommendation.

Service was polite, friendly and welcoming. Eating as always was top quality. Toilets immaculate. On a hot bank holiday and went from Kidlington to Oxford over the canal, the Lord who greeted us all got us a jug full of water and gave us time to cool off before we order. Absolutely love personal service like this and will return.

The place was fairly empty still none of the four waiters cared to attend to us. It took us one hour to get our bottle of wine we had to grab it ourselves from behind the counter (naturally, no wine glasses were available). Food was mediocre at best my personal highlight was when the (passive aggressive) waiter served our starters and didn't even realize we had no cutlery.

My husband and I went to have afternoon tea in Cafe Rouge. The menu listed 4 cakes per person for 12.50 pound. We had 4 pieces of cakes for both of us. We checked with a member of staff whether this is wrong. We were told he has been working there for 15 years and always gives 4 cakes for 2 people to share. We asked why this is different from the menu. He then walked away swearing. When he came back, he had a plate with 4 cakes and banged it on the table with a very unfriendly tone of enjoy . I never saw a restaurant staff so rude like him. We won 't come to this restaurant again.

The food is good and good, although the Café Rouge, which we visited in Oxford (Saturday lunch time, not full), was fairly chaotic and with the appearance not terrible well managed. We explained at the beginning, we had a short time limit of one hour; the food was quickly produced, but when we asked for coffee, they did not come, although the bill containing coffee was quickly produced. We said the coffee just came, but it was not (and the coffee machine area is filled with dirty cups and no one to participate). Then we asked for a adjusted bill and went. No big complaint, but it could have been handled better.
