"We went for the set menu (2 or 3 choices per course over 3 courses) as it all sounded so delicious and was a bit kinder on our finances. Wow, it was so delicious, with poached egg and bacon starter (my partner had the mushroom soup) we both had duck breast main and panna cotta dessert. Initially some translation issues were tricky with out server but we got there early and were the only ones there, so the extra time didn't phase him. He was very kind and patient. We decided to half wing it and so glad we did, I can't imagine anything tasting bad in this place. This was for sure the best meal we had in our entire France trip. Wine was delicious too! Must must must go!"

As for the service, the boss is listening to the little care. We will undoubtedly come back to discover this wonder to the family..."

"Let’s face it, the whole village is designed to attract wine buyers and for tourists who enjoying walking through old narrow streets between historic buildings. And both target groups are not disappointed. This restaurant right in the middle looks good and has all the attributes of a tourist trap, but it’s not entirely. Right away, the food was special, excellent, for higher-than-normal, but not excessive prices. The inside looks really neat, and is pleasurable. The only part that this restaurant was lacking was the attitude of the staff. Unlike all other places in France, here we felt a certain arrogance and the guest is just a person that comes to eat and leaves money on the table. A pity, sometimes it takes just a little more to give a truly excellent experience."

"We've been traveling around Europe in major cities with nice hotels and Hotel De Pavie still awes us like no other. There is no location as prime as here just beside the bell tower and walkable to anywhere in the petite village as they call St Emilion. Service is excellent with great table manners, and they also offer complimentary transport if you visit their sister chateau pavie which by the way is also a top winery. Our room is spacious, bed/pillow are sufficiently hard, and the shower facilities are top. Maybe a minor negative is the lack of variety for their French breakfast (pastries) but otherwise a brilliant stay. The reception is also very helpful and you can book with them on anything (especially if you are planning to visit other wineries in the region). FYI they offer a flat rate (per trip) for taxis. All in all, it's been a magical time in St Emilion and Hotel De Pavie just made it that much sweeter. P/S they have two wifi options here, and AFAIK they rebranded the hotel name from PLAISANCE to Hotel De Pavie a while back."

"Since the change of owner, the quality of the dishes and the service has declined significantly. My last orders have always had a problem: very frequent delay up to 1h (not justified), the amount of ingredients is small (4 small pieces of 5 cm of ham in a queen,) see nonexistent (no hot oil, no oil in the salad and even see not the main ingredient!.) I advise you this restaurant except for the frame but to Saint emilion everything is beautiful."
