"Disappointing visit to Cofone wine bar Unfortunately I cannot give a positive review for my visit to the Cofone wine bar in Koblenz. Although the taste of the food was good, our experience was marred by an unpleasant incident with the boss. We were prepared for a cozy evening and were looking forward to the culinary delights. The dishes we ordered were actually well prepared and attractively presented. Unfortunately, this positive experience was overshadowed by an unpleasant argument with the boss personally. There doesn't seem to be any value placed on well-paying regular customers here. Good-tasting side dishes such as potatoes are disappearing from the menu. It seems as if they are trying to increase profitability immensely by all possible means. Sorry, but for me it's good form that you can order potatoes with fish and meat dishes at an Italian restaurant. It seems like the boss has a problem with customer friendliness. Instead of dealing with comments or complaints professionally, he got into unnecessary conflict with us. This significantly affected the atmosphere and spoiled our evening. In a restaurant, not only the food but also the service should be good. Unfortunately, the Cofone wine bar has not been able to convince on this point for a long time. We would have liked a more pleasant experience and are disappointed with the unprofessional treatment of customers. We will prefer other locations in Koblenz in the future. Another disappointed regular customer"

This was one of the best meals on our four week tour of Europe. An interesting menu offering quality food at reasonable price.

We arrived hungry after a long day on planes and a train, and left full and completely satisfied. Had a great salad and delicious salmon pasta. Ver carta

This is a short distance around the corner from the IBISS a short walk from pedestrian zone old town Koblenz. Nice selection of Italian wines small but nice food menu. Atmosphere decor classy welcoming. Recommend!

We had a superb meal, I had the lamb cutlets which were divine and my husband had the veal cutlet which was excellent. The vegetables were perfection, tasty and fresh. The creme brulee scored We thoroughly enjoyed the whole visit and certainly the staff...were most friendly and attentive. If we had been staying another night in Koblenz we would have gone again!

I have been to Confone´s Weinbar (upper class and not cheap but worth it every time) multiple times and will continue to do so because I very much enjoy the good service and love the food. From the wonderful salads that taste exquisitely to the...fish, pasta and meat dishes they serve. Several times I had to buy a bottle of the olive oil used there because of the outstanding and delicious taste. I have been there with customers, with employees and with family and friends. Will go there again next week for lunch! I can highly recommend this restaurant. Ver carta

I've been there for a few time both for lunch and for dinner. They offer no Lunch Menu. The normal price for Lunch is quite expensive. Once we have to wait for nearly Hours for our Lunch (Pasta with Salmon). The Food quality is...excellent. But there are many choices and competition in Koblenz. Therefore Cofone is not my first choice. The Dinner Menu is very expensive. The atmostphere is cold, service oh..la..la.. the guy doesn't know how to smile... The restaurant located on Loehrstrasse. overlooking the street... the way to Main Railway Station. It is not nice to sit there.

A relatively small, fine, stylish restaurant that can be found inconspicuously in the Oberen Löhr (you really have have to look). They does not serve standard dishes, but strives for individuality, with a good atmosphere, attentive service. The place was well attended, middle-class audience; nevertheless,...it was not loud (the audience knew how to behave, unfortunately not a matter of course today). It lacks any kind of flexibility though. First, they ran out of spinach. OK. They recommended the arugula with cherry tomatoes instead. Fine with us. Then they realized that's gone too. My business associates a regular there suggested that the wonderful Turkish veggie market around the corner is...

"We visited this restaurant on Sunday afternoon in 23 August 2015. Because of the unusual number of bees this summer and because the sky looked overcast; we debated whether to sit inside or outside. We finally decided to eat outside and it did not rain...and we only saw one bee during our meal. We did not make a reservation prior to our visit. However, luckily we found a table still available outside when we arrived. The kitchen specializes in German Cuisine. The Menu is a limited Menu with fixed plates. The Menu was easy to read and understand. Plus, salads, soups, and fish plates (for vegetarians) are also available. The Menu also has dishes for those with a small (seniors) or big appetites and meals for children. Prices are average; food portions are average and fair. The Menu is also available in the entrance to the passage way to the restaurant. Also, in the Hof Biergarten there are several black boards on the wall with meal specials posted. When our Menus arrived, we ordered our drinks at the same time. Our drinks came relatively quickly and they were nice and cold (with ice – which was nice on a hot day). And, our drinks came before our food arrived, as it should be. Also, we did NOT have to play the drink game; where someone else brings your drinks and then asks you again, who ordered what. We did however have to play this game at the end of our meal, when my partner ordered coffee. Also, here they serve Pepsi not Coke, if that matters to you. I can drink both. Shortly after we ordered our drinks, we were served some bread in a small turn-down paper bag with paprika butter. The small brown bag was a novel idea, but when the bread was gone, the bag started to blow away from the wind. I had to grab it and weight it down with something on the table. So, brown bag for the bread novel idea but not such a good idea. Our mixed salads were served fresh with a great salad dressing. Both side salads were served at the same time and before our main entrée, as it should be. Plus, our food came quickly, but the negative was that our entrées came before we were done with our salads; not ideal. Another novel but functioning idea, was that our food and drink orders were taken at the table by our waitress with a computerized order system that immediately communicated our order to the kitchen. Plus, we noticed that the waiters and waitresses wore a simple uniform of a checkered green shirts and jeans, giving them a professional look. I ordered the Schnitzel vom Schweinerücken, with sliced fried potatoes, (not French fries so substitutions are possible) und Salätchen for 11,90 Euro, which came with 2 large pieces of Schnitzel. My partner ordered the Gebratene Hähnchenbrust, mit Champignonrahmsoße, Pommes und Salätchen for 12,90 Euro. I tried my partner’s Gebratene Hähnchenbrust and therefore, I can recommend both dishes as delicious. Both meals were from fresh meat, served hot, and as we had ordered them. However, I noticed that another guest had a lot more French fries than my partner; I suggest this restaurant either establish a standard or review their current standard portion of fries, to provide consistency. While neither my partner nor I were offered ketchup or mayonnaise for our potatoes, we did not ask for any either. The restaurant’s outside area is divided into 3 sitting areas. The outside tables and chairs are sturdy. The outside decorations are simple in an old fashion brown wood motif with wooden tables, wooden chairs, wooden bench, a large wooden barrel, and black boards on the wall with specials posted on them. From the outside tables one sits in a pleasant garden atmosphere with live plants, bushes, and trees. The outside tables are simply decorated, with: no table cloth, salt and pepper dispensers, coasters, ash tray, and paper napkins (which I prefer) with silverware in a pitcher. The outside area is roomy and well organized concerning space and the tables are nicely spaced with room between them for people to move about within the Hof Biergarten without having to disturb other customers and even with the tables full; it is not chair back on chair back. There are mostly tables for 2 that can be place together for groups of 4, 6, 8, or 12 people. So, by moving the tables and chairs together, if necessary, it would be a great place for a special occasion or a big group. Sun umbrellas covering the outside tables and each umbrella had a light underneath. I was not inside the restaurant during this visit, so I can NOT review anything about the inside of the restaurant Because the restaurant lies back from the fussgangerweg, the noise level from the street is greatly reduced and the Biergarten is quiet. It is a shame that the restaurant does not have background music playing outside. Unfortunately, the three negatives about sitting outside 1) are from some of the tables there is a view of a trash container, but the area around the trash container was clean, 2) are the smokers, but better having the smokers outside than inside and 3) is the passage way and the terrace floor was not 100% clean, with some cigarette butts and some paper trash on the ground. As the waitress picked up our empty plates, she did ask if everything was OK. Then my partner ordered a coffee and when she returned we played the drink game. When my partner was finished with her coffee, we paid our bill, received the correct change, gave the waitress her tip and left for home. This restaurant does not have it own parking lot and therefore one has to go hunting for a parking space on a side street and pay for parking. There is a city parking lot about 100 meters from the restaurant that is often full. However, we luckily found a parking space here and because it was Sunday, it did not cost to park. Disabled access: The negative is that disable persons must find a parking space on a side street, at least 100 meters away. However, once in the fussgangerweg the passage to the Biergarten and the Biergarten itself are both on the same level. While disables persons can easily reach the outside eating areas, the access to the restaurant inside, due to the two steps up before the restaurant entrance, is not as easy. Outside chairs can be removed to provide wheelchair access to the outside tables. This restaurant has its own Internet page. This Internet page has lots of information on it, such as the address, telephone number, opening hours, email contact information, photos, special offers, special events, and an On-line Drink and Food Menus. But it is only in German. Summary: Based on friendliness, taste, price, service, and atmosphere, my overall rating for this restaurant is a high recommendation. We will be back."
