I had some excellent meals at this "local" when I visited Lausanne in September 2012. There is nothing greasy about their food. It has been under new management since July 2012 and their chocolate dessert is fab.

Atmosphere of a real French Brasserie (even if the chef is Canadian), with its wooden chairs, tables and benches and its wide selection of draft beers. Small choice of dishes but of excellent quality. All ingredients are fresh and the food is prepared by the chef himself. There is a nice little terrace for the hot summer days. I tasted the fish and it was delicious.

I've been to Brasserie de Montelly 5 or 6 times (I live in the neighborhood). I have to say that the food is pretty good. What really bothered me is the service and the decor. Last time I went, the waiter laughed at me because I ordered a Latte Machiatto. Also they were upset because I ordered a coffee 1 x and no food, not to mention they had a lot of free tables. If they want to be so arrogant they might as well spend a franc or 2 or changing their tables and chairs. They are sticky and old. Also the food is pretty pricey. I don't think they understand the concept of value for money. Wouldn't hurt for the waiters to learn a thing or 2 about manners. Ver carta
