Only visited for a drink. A pot of tea for two people was £7.70 which even after requesting more hot water only gave us one and a half cups each. Extremely overpriced and disappointing Service: 3 Location: 2

We had a great dinner. The waiting staff were helpful snd attentive. We didn't like a beer that we chose and the staff changed it for another with no problem. The food was very good (one veggie). Service: 4 Location: 5

Served us rotten, moldy figs with the carpaccio, which was also cooked roast beef and not actual carpaccio which is supposed to be raw and thin. The steak cut was not flat iron but probably bavette. When we complained and sent food back, the servers just stopped coming to our table probably ashamed. Not a single word of apology. Just sent us the bill. Food drinks: Worst restaurant in the area. The room was great and breakfast was included. It seemed like some of the staff were stressed or out of their usual roles, competent but not very welcoming. Unfortunately, my black pudding was badly burnt. The location is excellent, although you may be disturbed by the church clock if you're in a room facing the road. I had the most incredible birthday lunch at a stylish restaurant with the most amazing food. Our server was charming and the dishes were delicious. We started with a perfect prawn and crayfish cocktail, followed by a steak pie with mashed potatoes and broccoli, paired with a tasting flight of British wines. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly, with great options for vegetarians as well. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and it was even dog-friendly. The location at a 5-star hotel was luxurious and peaceful.
