Waiter was the only positive on this visit overpriced chef needs to up his game will not returning shame as it could really have been a good experience

Great ambience and relaxed atmosphere. Excellent food at reasonable prices. Good choices on menu. Gluten free needs well catered for. We had two main courses, puddings and drinks for £54.00 Would highly recommend.

So good we visited twice in two nights. Excellent squash and falafel salad on the second night. Pork and chorizo scotch egg, and the tuna steak, a highlight on the first. Pub coped with being busy food still came pretty quickly.

We went with family for a low key birthday meal. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Very good service, not rushed through the meal. The food was fantastic. Have been before for drinks, and again, the staff were super friendly and happy. Makes such a difference!

The second year running we’ve been here for lunch on the way home from the Latitude Festival. Perfect spot for my husband to Edit and send photos of the hands to his agency. The staff could not be more friendly or attentive and the food, drinks and service were all first rate. Looking forward to next year!

Sadly our recent visit didn't live up to expectations. 3 of our 4 diners had problems with their dishes. Whist we were offered replacements for the steak dishes it would have meant 2 of the diners would be eating their main courses at different times. Lets hope it was a one off experience. Disappointing as it was a birthday treat.

We came for Sunday lunch which I knew would be good because I’d eaten here before. But somehow yesterday was perfect we had the option to eat inside or in the courtyard and we chose the courtyard because it was a beautiful summer’s day. There was enough shade and a gentle hum of conversation. No music. No noise. Just gorgeous. The food was perfect, we had a burger, sea bream, seared tuna and it was all cooked to perfection. Very good value for money and lovely ambience. Thank you.

There are some positives, but I won't be going back. Easy parking—very friendly, attentive staff—and DOG FRIENDLY inside. But given the size of the pub, there is a limited choice of ales. The menu was quite large, but it was all high on carbs, and everything came with chips and a lacklustre salad. So even the frittata, whose main component is potatoes, came with chips. This would not have been so bad if the oil the chips came in hadn't been old and burnt. I felt a bit queasy afterwards. This was all a bit of a shame because the staff were pretty much faultless.

Booked by phone was recommended to come at 12:00 for Sunday lunch right choice … we had the delightful mackerel rillettes pate to start and then the roast beef excellent selection of vegetables even included roast beetroot (devil’s vegetable to two of us so other guest had ours on his plate straight from the kitchen) Perfect portions even if the knives weren’t best to cut through the tender beef and the hardy Yorkies. Would have loved to try the desserts but as wonderful and tempting they were we were all well replete. Can’t fault the staff really friendly and welcoming as you walk in and through out the service; lovely restaurant environment; clean toilets and great food great combination!...
