Frankie Benny's - Carta

I'm not normally a massive fan of frankie and bennys but the manager at Yorks vanguard store makes you feel so welcome. Definetly worth a visit ????

It's reasonable food, at a decent location and the service is normally good. I do think it's quite expensive unless you take advantage of some of the offers though.

I have a soft spot for Frankie's. Nice staff, nice atmosphere and good food. It's been getting more expensive and portions have been shrinking but they often have offers and it's a nice no-frills meal out Ver carta

We have just had one of the finest mixed grills we have ever tasted. The staff are absolutely fantastic the attention to detail is phenomenal. Thankyou Guys. Frank and Benny's should be well proud of their staff at the vanguard Monks Cross York

Dire tonight. Had to wait over 20 minutes for drinks order to be taken and then didn't arrive til after starters were brought and informed the waiter. Tables that were dirty when we entered were still dirty as we left. No staff member looked like they wanted to be there, however the food was delicious

We are regular customers at this Frankie Benny’s and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for good food and a relaxed dining experience. The staff are efficient, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We would like to say a huge thanks to Andy, Liam, Matt, Mario and Kayleigh for making our meal so enjoyable and we always leave the restaurant chilled with full tummy’s. See you again soon. We called in for lunch with our 9 month old son. We were shown to a table and it was on a booth so quite high up. We asked for a high chair. When we saw our table we said it’s a bit high to feed the baby. So we were bought 2 high chairs stacked together and were told “this will make it the same height at the table”. What on earth.......? This is so dangerous, and totally unacceptable. How can 2 stacked together be stable?? Especially since my son likes to thrash about. Not good. Safe to say we walked out and will not be back! Terrible.

So far so good... ordered the calamari for A and Mushroom Alfredo for Moi! The calamari is beautiful and tender not an ounce of chewiness. The Alfredo was just the right balance and the mushrooms were lovely and earthy and fresh tasting! We will check back in with our main course!Main course for A was the lamb shank and mine was the new recipe Meatballs. I'm still giving 5 stars because it all was lovely the new meatballs were a bit of a weird combination of lemon herbs and pork with the meaty ragu sauce but I got used to it the more I ate. A's lamb shank was glorious!Tom W was really attentive, friendly and welcoming and it looked to be well organised.

Gone downhill I am afraid this chain, starters have no effort to them, I ordered chicken strips. I got exactly that, 4 or 5 dry chicken strips on a plate nothing else. Poor, put.some effort in to your starters ffs!!!The main, Calzone, the only Calzone on the menu, there used to be slot more I remember.Looked as flat as a pancake when it come, hardly any internal filling at all. It was like eating pure pastry!It's clear they have changed the menu, for the worse as I recall it being better.Wife's main was rubbish too pork chop Milanese, she left it. All in all we feel ripped off and we should have gone to McDonald's at a fifth of the cost of this dogs dinner. Ver carta
