Expensive but oh so good, so fresh and delicious. The service can be indifferent or warm, but no matter. You're here for the good food and it deserves your full attention. The oysters alone are worth what they charge. Enjoy!

A large choice of french oysters in different sizes. Lobsters, scallops, mussels... and other rare crustaceans like Goose barnacles or solens!!! It was my first time, eating Goose barnacles... it test like shrimps. I had a lovely tuna burger in a lemon bun. the french...spirit is nice and different from what I had in other places in Berlin. With so much on offer in the spiffy food court on the ground level of Galeries Lafayette, we chose Le Bistro (not the oyster bar) for lunch. Siting at a table next to the futuristic central atrium, we had to wait for our quiche of...the day (spinach and onions for us, Lorraine for our friend), but when it arrived it was tasty, as were the accompanying salad of fresh spring greens and scoop of creme fraiche.

As I often visit the Galeries Lafayette when I visit Berlin, I was have lunch in the basement food hall. There are several different food counters and I often buy a sandwich at the deli counter, which are always a good size, with a nice...choice of different fancy fillings and breads. I had a beef with salad sandwich on a crusty ciabatta which was really tasty and filling. If you're feeling like a sugar boost then I can recommend the cake counter which has lots of different sweet delicacies and cakes, and they also serve an amazing rich hot chocolate which is more like a dessert. One of the best, and yet unassuming little eateries I have found, went back daily for days. Exquisite Japanese sushi, in amazingly different forms. Tasted gloriously superb. An amazing find, it had only been opened about three months in September but the carry...out sales were amazing and the small seating area with bar was also busy. If you like sushi don't fail to get here on your next visit to Berlin. It is in the basement Gourmet area and well deserves to be there. The staff are personable and friendly.
