Our waitress Michelle was great, food was delicious and great value. Generous portion sizes. Lovely atmosphere with all the Christmas decorations up. Bar prices were reasonable. Food Ok, Veg could 've been a little warmer. No checkback done during our meal. Asked a young waiter for some more gravy and replied Can 't see why not He then came back with the small milk jug of gravy (six adults on the table) None of us received any cracking as stated on the menu. The atmosphere at this restaurant is charming and the staff is generally attentive and polite. The food is priced above average for the portions you receive. I ordered a curry which tasted good, but the serving size was disappointingly small, consisting of no more than three tablespoons of curry. This meant that you ended up filling up on rice and naan bread. We usually stay at the campsite nearby and used to receive a small discount on food, but this privilege is now only available to guests of the pub, which is unfortunate. Despite these drawbacks, the restaurant is still worth a visit due to its great location and the abundance of activities in the surrounding area. Price per person range...

The pub is decent, but the room and overall experience were very disappointing. I had booked a room weeks in advance for a special treat for myself and my partner before visiting Chatsworth House. Unfortunately, we were given room number 1, located at the back of the pub above the kitchen. The extractor fan from the kitchen was loud and ran continuously, finally shutting off at 1:15am. The view outside the window was of bins and air-conditioning units that also ran all the time. When I asked for a different room, I was told none were available as they were already booked by other guests who had specified a room preference.
