Went for Sunday lunch with parents whilst down for the rugby. Starters were generous. main courses, especially the lamb was excellent as were the desserts. £30 for 3 courses was reasonable, although same price as sunday lunch at the local (to us) Michelin star restaurant...

Visited the spa this afternoon for a massage Katie on reception was pleasant and professional, whilst my therapist Anita was friendly, skilled and very strong! I’ve had many treatments over the years in spas and hotels all over the world, and this was by far the best! Overall a fantastic experience and highly recommended.

Did not feel like cooking or a take-away, so decided to drop into Holm House for an autumnal treat. Our waitress, Karina, looked after us most kindly. She has been there for a few months, now, and is always a joy to see again as she has a very bright and cheerful manner with all customers. I confess that I was a bit apprehensive when she mentioned that tonight, a new chef was cooking but no need, the food was very enjoyable and beautifully presented, so big thumbs up to the new member of staff. Wishing them all the best for their new job!

We had the pleasure of joining family members for dinner in the Nest private dining room for a special birthday. The whole experience from arrival to departure was truly memorable. The staff at Holm House are to be applauded for their friendliness, efficiency and distinct attention to detail. I would like to make special mention of Gwillam (spelling? our waiter and sommelier, who was exceptional. We had pre ordered the courses, but all the meals were perfectly delivered, correctly to each individual, which also included correct wine pairings for each dish. Gwillam gave excellent descriptions of each wine with charm and flair. His politeness, efficiency and friendliness throughout the evening...

Afternoon tea and overnight stay were a lovely treat for my birthday. Afternoon tea was nice but very beige in colour. The scone were the standout of the offer, very nice indeed. The experience was slightly tempered by the condescending nature of the female restaurant host when ordering hot beverages. Lovely odern looking restaurant with views of the carden and saa except for the rather old and sticky table we were sat at. We were going to stay for dinner too but on reading the menu we decided to go elsewhere due to the price point of the menu which seemed over priced when having to pay separately for side dishes to complete the dish.
