"Whilst wondering this lovely little town, we wondered what we should grab to eat. We thought we would play it safe by going to a non-commercial but traditional Italian restaurant. However, whilst the menu may feel like you’re sitting in Italy, there is nothing safe...about the quality of this food! I should first of all acknowledge just how receptive and warming they were to the fact that we had two infants who were part of our party. They did everything they can to make sure that they were smiling as much as we were, and able to squeeze in our buggy and luggage accordingly. The food though was absolutely delicious. The folded garlic and cheese balls to start were absolutely delicious, and oozing of salty chewiness. However both of the monk fish main courses that came out were absolutely outstanding, with very fleshy and generously portion size pieces of fish. The veal Milanese was perfectly crispy and moist in the middle. The infant size pizza was generous portion size. All of it was cooked fresh and served warm. The only thing which frustrated me was the lack of wine options that you can order by the glass. I do understand why restaurants don’t make all of their wines available, but as the only one drinking I would have liked more than just a Pino for white wine options. But this isn’t a restaurant for alcohol, this is a restaurant for well cooked food for all occasions. If I am in the area again I would easily eat here"

Just had a lovely meal here. The food was very good quality and a reasonable price. Friendly and welcoming staff. Definitely worth another visit.

the birthday contract became a big farewell due to the terrible slow service. over one and a half hours waiting for 6 pizzas! They never apologized or tried, and we had 2 children with us. we will not go...back

Six of us had lunch after a few beers in the tap room. They were very attentive without being overbearing and very accommodating. All the food was cooked fresh and although my steak was underdone they rectified it immediately with no fuss. Great menu and...great service.

Sorry to say that things haven't improved since my last visit. The decor has changed and perhaps that explains the increase in the fixed price menu to £16.95 although their Facebook page had not been updated. There was little choice on that menu. Service was...the pits despite a mandatory 10% service charge. It seems that they have also now joined the trend for a cakeage charge which doesn't sit well especially when our bill came to £200+. Definitely won't be going again.

We had a booking and were seated quickly. We had delicious starters of garlic bread and battered prawns with dip. Very high quality food. Had veal escalope milanese and t bone steak and chips. My veal was very delicious and spaghetti cooked perfectly The t...bone steak however was drowning in fat. The mushrooms were deep fried and tasted horrible The chips were also sub standard, tasted like bog standard frozen ones. We also had 2 x soft drinks Total came to £84 Put it this way, I think we could get the same elsewhere for £50 Very disappointed and won't be back

Our first visit, a lunch time treat. First impressions the restaurant is very impressive décor wise. We received a friendly welcome and attentive service during our stay. We have eaten in many high-end Italian restaurants in London, Rome, Florence. La Galleria is up there with...the best. The seafood linguini was perfect, a few simple ingredients as is the style of the cuisine, cooked with a light touch but all extremely well flavoured 10/10. My wife had the Melanzane alla parmigiana and was impressed. The folk on the next table had pizzas and they looked amazing. Definitely worth a revisit.

the calamari was nicely cooked, no rubber bands here, the teig was super light, almost tempura like. the linguini with mönchsfisch and garnel was incredible. again the seafood was perfectly cooked, the pasta was al-dente and the spicy tomato sauce really had a kick. my daughter had the meatballs and penne, which was very rich and extremely tasty. we all ate very well, and our waiter arbi was good fun and attentive. 3 meals, all with 3 curses, for £100.00, we have a 15% tip happy. some reviews mention here not optional service fee this was not at location and place when we visited mai 2022. highly recommended. we're coming back.

"we have eaten here before and the food was pleasant enough and last night we were here with 2 friends, we ordered, whistle, and tempoura garnel, followed by makrele with a “bbq” sauce, dover sole and mönchsfisch with a “seedy” sauce. where should I start? it was quite wrong with some of the courts. the garnels were nice, the muscheln were ok, but the sauce was not great, but that was ok. When it came to the net, our chips were forgotten and therefore came a bit late - even that would have been in order, but the makrele dish was not good, the “bbq” sauce tasted strongly from orange! our friend likes zitrus really and since this was not mentioned on the menu the makrele was also very dry. I had the mönchsfisch satay and expected a spicy erdnus sauce, instead the fish was covered with lime leaf, which I strongly dissimilar - not mentioned on the menu again and the satay sauce was insipid. the Dover sole was very good. we were asked if we enjoyed the meal and so polite feedback was offered that these aromen were mentioned on the menu, as they were the dominant aromen of the feeds. the owner continued to argue with us - she was exceptionally rude and told me I obviously don't like strong aromes! she also asked me to ask if I ate the court! she continued to argue very rude and told us that it was obviously not for us (the restaurant). that's true! we have eaten in many restaurants of all standards and have never been treated like this! our evening was completely ruined - not because of the food, but because of the rudeness of the owner. we paid the bill and left. our friends have eaten a lot in the past, but unnecessary to say, none of us will go again."
