"Waitress very rude to me when we came to order. The terrace restaurant was not busy, we had sat inadvertently at a table set for eating lunch, after seeing the menu, I asked if we could order frappe’s. The waitress gruffly gesticulated that couldn’t we see that the table was set for lunch as if it was a problem we had caused her. We didn’t know we had apparently made a faux pas. If she had politely asked us to move to a different table we gladly would have there was no need to cause embarrassment to us! I wanted to leave gestured to do so, but my wife persuaded me to stay. The frappes were nice, but needless to say, the incident left an unnecessary ‘bad taste’."

The food and service was top notch. Absolutely fantastic location. People watching at its best and it's steps away from the famous Van Gogh painted cafe.

Way TOO expensive. Euro 14.40 for 2 beers and not even an snack or something..... And all due to the fact the you are at Place de Forum. Get your drinks and food somewhere else.

Only dropped in for light refreshments on our visit to Arles last week had to wait a while to be served and the waitress made us feel she was doing a favour by doing so. Didn’t return and wouldn’t recommend Ver carta

We had a crab and avocado sandwich on brioche bun. Couldn't find any crab amongst the mayo! Tres Cher pour 18E. But the fries and beer were nice. My wife had a nice salad but it was very small for 17E. A bit underwhelmed. More Catastrophe than Apostrophe!

Nice cafe on Place du Forum in the heart of the old Arles. We had a poke bowl and a burrata Tartine. Both were quite delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Prices were good considering the location and the quality of the ingredient (that Burrata... . I would highly recommend that place.

The food was fine,a light meal ,and it was what we wanted. The girl, who may have been the manager, was helpful and smiling, and gave us menus ,and we paid our bill to her. The guy who served us ,and other staff who appeared were sullen unsmiling, and the guy who took, and delivered our meal was in the wrong job I think. He didn't know how to treat people and was less than welcoming..Functional service only Ver carta

Very friendly and helpful staffs! We don’t understand French and the waitress tried her very best to help our order! The restaurant is busy but the waitresses and waiters are well trained so you won’t feel left out! The foods are unexpectedly delicious! Fresh and nice! The fried noodle (wok) is not salty at all like other restaurants who provides Asians style food! I especially loves the squid and the salmon! Yum Yum!!!

I was at Apostrophe twice the first time after my late night arrival in Arles, and during which the service was slow and surly. I had my aperitif and left, without intentions of returning. Yet I did return two nights later, for dinner this time. I ordered a steak and seafood dinner, which was not in season I was told. Instead I ordered a stir fry with shrimp, which I enjoyed. The service persons this time were friendlier.

"This restaurant is part of a hotel in a very impressive 16th century building. It looks very classy. However, the night we were there, there must have been some serious problems in the kitchen (or maybe it is always like that . We started with a shared plate of charcuterie which took a long time to arrive – how long does it take to arrange the cold meats on a plate? We then waited a very, very long time for our main courses. While waiting, we saw a dispute at another table involving the maître d’ and resulting in plates going back to the kitchen. We had both ordered duck à l’orange which came with Camargue rice. The rice appeared to have been baked in the oven and was so crisp and dry that it resembled a cereal bar. The ‘orange’ was not the usual sauce, but instead was four cubes of orange that appeared to have been scorched on a grill. They added nothing to the dish. It had been suggested that we should share a side of seasonal vegetables. These turned out to be big chunks of boiled potatoes (with rice! , a boiled root vegetable and a couple of dry artichokes. We had interchanges with two servers and the maître d – all were cold and brusque. We lived in France for more than 20 years and appreciate the fact that the French like to take their time with meals, but there is a big difference between leisurely and glacially slow. Perhaps we were there on a bad night, others seem to have had a better experience."
