"(French below) Do not be seduced by thematic restaurants and bars in the beautiful center of Verdun. A 10-minute walk from the city tourist office takes you to this charming authentic French restaurant. We called to make a reservation on Saturday night and a table was free when the next option along the road was entirely reserved. So we did not have what to expect, but we were not disappointed. The menu was varied with three menu options. 22, 30 or 50 euros. Each of these options had three different options for beginners and main courses, plus one dessert of choice. I went for my partner's thing on the 30th, which also included a cheese board. While we decided, the biggest fun, but I arrived Pate and bread. More bread continued to arrive freely in the evening, which is something you do not always find. I had a big starter of seafood that with the mouth amuse, bread and dessert would probably have been enough food. The main courses were excellent and beautifully presented with potatoes and vegetables, but not to any new kitchen. And a fantastic cream burned and a large, but rich chocolate mousse with cream to finish. To find such a dining room at these prices, and in a suburb, not the city center, was incredible. I can’t imagine that I’ve never eaten such an excellent food for anywhere near the prices we paid, even less at a time of cost of living increases. Unfortunately, the opening hours are limited by a staff shortage (thank you Brexit! , but they are open on weekends if you visit. The main dishes were excellent and nicely presented with potatoes and vegetables, but not to any new kitchen. I can't imagine that I never ate such an excellent food for anywhere near the prices we paid, and even less at a time when the cost of life increases. "Très bon restaurant proche du canal, accueil chaleureuse. Cocktail maison très bon ! La planche à charcuterie était varié et très bonne. En plat, l'escalope milanaise avec la sauce champignons et accompagnement les légumes et crème de fromage a été bourratif. Je recommande fortement !"

"I was staying in Verdun in an Airbnb, and the host recommended this restaurant to me. It is not right in the centre of town, and I wouldn’t have come across it if I hadn’t gone there in a taxi. I was certainly glad I had been sent there though. If you enjoy really authentic French food, then this is an absolute gem. I got the impression that it is a family run restaurant. I chose from the blackboard on the wall, and had what they called “tournedos” steak. It wrapped in Palma ham, and cooked in a rich sauce. It sat on a bed of crispy potatoes, and the whole thing was astonishing. Washed down with a small carafe of house red. Not expensive, absolutely delicious. It doesn’t get any better. I will return one day."

"service a little long, but in general it is good sign, but not this time...A dish, no entry: nut of saint jacques with a cream sauce and leeks with fries, I had water to the mouth. ben missed, 4 nuts of saint lukewarm jacques, and crammed fries: 22 €, the waiter proposes to bring me back other fries, done, but 15 min later. We were 4 to have chosen this dish, all disappointed! notice said leaving, but apparently it's not so bad!"

"Ils doivent connaître la cuisine autant que la mécanique...si vous voulez manger ne serait-ce que correct allez ailleurs. C'est vraiment pas difficile de trouver mieux. Salade de fromage, c'est des pauvres bouts de pain (certainement de la veille) grillés et une rondelle de chèvre. L'accompagnement, un desastre: carotte industrielle très bas de gamme, une vinaigrette similaire et 3 bout de tomates. Le café gourmand,..l'ile flottante doit flotter depuis un bout de temps, le blanc en neige est tout sec. Finalement si vous voulez manger correct, commander uniquement une portion de frite. Pour moi c'était la dernière."
