Lucano - Carta

Expensive pizza without salt in the dough and undercooked. Not recommended especially for us Italians who are used to eating it right

Pizza, tricolore salad, 3 pasta dishes 3 desserts were all 5s. Service was friendly efficient. Best restaurants during our 4 days on Mainland by far.

Fresh and very well cooked food, a little spicy so make sure when you order not to add too much chilli. Very high prices. A plate of seafood linguine £33. Ver carta

The Carbonara was excellent, like being back in Italy. Staff was professional and friendly. Gluten free pasta was available and prepared correctly, nice selection of Italian wines and local beers and whiskies.

Staff were excellent but the food was very overpriced. Lasagne had a gritty texture and came without any bread, chips or salad which is pretty pricey at over £20. Other dishes were bland and expensive. Shame cause I had take away the night before, pasta with spicy sausage which was nice

Every time we visit Orkney we always have dinner at Lucano's. But this time we were very disappointed, service was very poor and the food went seriously downhill! The pasta's were very bland, mine had no taste, the tomato sauce was too sweet and the capers had no taste and even the pizza was sad.... Ver carta

I was delighted to find authentic Italian cuisine in Orkney! The food is delicious, fresh, and the portions are generous. Che buono! The staff is warm and welcoming and the prices are reasonable. This is the second time I have been to this restaurant and it is just as incredible as I remember from my last visit to Orkney. I highly recommend Lucano!

It was busy in the night I came to Lucanos. The service was prompt, and the staff were friendly. The food didn't meet expectation, to be honest, which was a shame, the gnocchi was a little bland, as for the garlic bread it fell below expectation, a baguette with garlic butter and cheese was very basic. I also felt that it was not value for money and was overpriced. In all the reception was prompt and friendly, the food could have been a lot better and would then have been with what I had paid.

I don't normally do reviews, but this place was a disaster. We went in with a group of 6. They can't split checks so we sat as 2 tables of 3. Table 1 ordered and they sent it to the kitchen. The waitress came back and took Table 2's order. Table 1 had ordered a couple starters. Table 2's food showed up quickly and we insisted they eat without us. They finished their meal while Table 1 sat with no food. About 30 minutes after we ordered our starters showed up. Then another 20 minutes past with nothing. We ran out of time and asked to have our meals boxed. That took another 10 minutes. The place seems to be run by a bunch of teenagers and I'm sure they were just punishing us for asking to spli...
