"I and my partner were fortunate enough to spend our Wedding Day at Sudbury House Hotel. The day was perfect, thanks to Natalie the team going above beyond! The scenery is stunning and made some really good photos for our wedding. All of the guests who attended in the day evening complimented the foods provided, especially the roast beef. The deluxe Suite was definately pleasant, spacious worth the money which added a special feel to our day. Thank you Sudbury House team for make our day special. Rooms: The Deluxe suite is stunning, and definately worth the money. It's not just the room you are paying for, but you also get to experience the unique lobby staircase Sudbury House provides just before you open your rooms door. Walkability: The gardens were beautiful, and definately worth a walk through. Food drinks: The food was delicious, all of the 52 guests that attended complements the wedding breakfast, evening buffet, and morning breakfast the following day. Most people complemented the roast beef. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Great view, Romantic, Quiet"

I stayed at this hotel in Farringdon to visit Kelmscott Manor and Coxwell Barn. It was a luxurious hotel with a large garden and interior. The room was really clean and it was nice to have a bathtub. As I am a William Morris fan, I may visit Farringdon one more time and I will stay at this hotel then too. Rooms: 5 Service: 5

The staff member on reception was abrupt and rude. We thought about not staying but couldn't find an alternative so late. Room was nice, bed was comfortable. Same staff member was working on checkout and couldn't be nicer. Must have caught her at a bad time when checking in! Rooms: 4 Service: 2 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Great value

This hotel and service is absolutely disgusting! Would never stay here again, no hygiene! Had to request on several occasions for my bedding to be changed, toilet was dirty no toilet rolls were in the bathroom. Food was served cold and when asked to change faces were made by staff, just no good service provided! Do NOT waste your money to stay here Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 1

Was here for my son's wedding, to me, everything went smoothly with no problems. The room was comfortable and clean, well presented and odourless. The food was tasty and enjoyable. Breakfast the following morning was awesome and, again, tasty food. Staff, to me, appeared diligent and efficient plus the had the knack of not being in your face but we're there when you needed them. Rooms: 5

The communication with Sudbury House was extremely poor. We chose a junior suite, which was not cheap, based on the website photos. However, we were disappointed upon arrival. The shower head in the roll top bath did not work, there were no fluffy bath robes provided, and the suite was located above the bar, resulting in noise from people drinking until 2am. The service was slow, despite it not being busy, and there was an extra charge for lattes or cappuccinos. After waiting two weeks for a response to our email, we have not received any further communication. We will not be recommending this place to anyone. Overall, our experience was poor. Ver carta

Well, where shall I start, if you want a luxury stay i definitely recommend not to stay here. The rooms were dirty and throughout my stay , they weren’t cleaned once. The toilet had skid marks from the last people that stayed and when I asked for this to be cleaned, I was told they would send someone , no one came. Sleeping on the beds was like lying on an ironing board, hard and uncomfortable. The heating in my room was not working which caused my baby to get ill , when telling reception they said they would fix it. , again nothing was done. "Let me just say, the food was pretty good obviously a good team in the kitchen, not too long a wait and all very well presented. This is however where my praise finishes. It appears that even if you pre book a large group to eat on a quiet Saturday lunchtime you will not be given the best of receptions. We decided for ease of everyone to pay separately for our drinks at the bar this was not taken well and a frosty response from the woman at the bar made it clear we were already not doing things the way she wanted. Food orders were taken shortly after followed by an arm to the face as cutlery and sauce pots were pushed past us in no polite manner. Once our meals were delivered we were left alone to eat, no service followed. After our meals we decided to pay up individually so we all paid for what we ordered. At the bar. All was well until one of our group decided to ask if a service charge had been added, the reply was from the landlord of yes it had. Our group member asked for it to be removed in a polite manner as he explained it should be down to the customer to pay this not automatically. Having worked in pubs for many years myself this is a perfectly reasonable request, the fact we did most of the service for them by going to the bar to pay and get our drinks and no follow up after food served, meant the service charge of 10% not even shown on receipt, deceiving customers who leave a tip not realising the service charge has also been added. The landlord flew off the rails calling my group member a F king W! £er and a horrible man many times infront of the other customers, raging and abusive behaviour followed when he cornered my group member outside the pub as we were leaving. This behavior was so unacceptable and unbelievable, towards a man in his late 60s who never raised his voice once. So to all potential customers check your receipt before you leave the establishment and for a bill breakdown brace yourself for a full torrent of abuse before you are kicked out of the pub because of a service charge they have not declaired properly. Never visiting again!!!!"
