Mama Liz's - Carta

This restaurant is a great place with friendly and welcoming service for both bands and groups. The decor is relaxed and fun with a cool festival vibe. The entire staff was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place!

The venue is tucked away but there is a basement for live bands so it makes sense it is always lively at night, lots of live DJs, funky dance floor and huge bar. Outdoor seating space as well as indoor restaurant areas with a second floor perfect for private parties. Always great fun, with an artistic, Deep South style. It is very cool.

Came across Mama Liz 's soul food shack and the Voodoo Lounge in course of following the SoapGirls tour. What more could you ask for? A very friendly reception, great beer and then a delicious spicy meal all in very pleasant surroundings. We enjoy dining out and appreciate good food, great service, and a pleasant atmosphere. We have visited numerous restaurants in Stamford, but Mama Liz's is truly the best in the city. The food is top-notch, delicious, and always fresh. If you're unsure of what to order, I highly recommend trying the ribs. I absolutely love this restaurant and make sure to bring friends here whenever they come to visit. Mama Liz's is a place we hold dear.

We visited Mama Liz for the first time recently to see Big Boy Bloater live and ate in the restaurant before heading down into the cellar for the gig. The food was great, ribs, nachos, chilli poppers were just a small selection of what we had. The bar was great too, décor was unique and the beer, first class.The cellar was an ideal location for live music and we all had a really good time. Definitely will be returning and now on their mailing list!

Dropped in here for a drink before heading for home. I wish we hadn't bothered. The staff were more interested with his mate sat at the bar. Finally we were served and sat down only to be interrupted by a foul mouthed young girls who took great delight in shouting and swearing at the people who were with her. She was told to be quiet for her to kick off again. Goodness knows what the people having a meal must have thought. Finally she was ushered out not by members of staff but her friends only for her to gob off at them once outside. Ver carta

We decided to have lunch at this restaurant. It wasn't very busy, but the service and food were exceptional. I decided to try the catfish for the first time, and although I was a bit unsure, I enjoy trying new foods so I gave it a shot. The catfish was tender, firm, and delicious. I've been craving it ever since. If you're a seafood lover, I highly recommend trying it. The cornbread was also amazing. My husband ordered the beef fajitas, which were also excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful, making it a truly wonderful dining experience.

I’m not native to Stamford, but I have it on reasonably good authority that the pub downstairs occasionally entertains a bit of a questionable clientele. Thankfully this seems to in no way reflect on the food, which turned it to be anything but questionable. Well mostly. I had the Gumbo, which was fantastic, but came with a piece of cornbread roughly the sweetness, consistency and shape of your average piece of lemon drizzle cake. I mean, sure, it was good, but even as the adventurous type it would have felt thoroughly strange to dip it in the sauce. I ended up having it as a sort of pre-dessert, dessert instead.

We were meeting up with friends for the weekend and decided to try this place for a drink and some food . We sat in the bar area in big comfy sofas for a few drinks before going through to a dinning area to eat with basic wooden table and chairs . The food was great and a nice change from the norm. . Between us we tried the goat curry , jambalaya and gumbo and all were good value and very tasty There is a proper restaurant area upstairs where an open mic night was taking place but we were so comfortable downstairs we stayed there the whole evening . I gather it’s very popular at the weekend but it wasn’t too crowded when we were there and we found a great place to unwind Ver carta
