The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. The food is extremely good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. 10 out of 10 for me.

Mamma Italia is our go-to for any occasion. The food is fresh, authentic and delicious and the team couldn't be more friendly welcoming. Sunderland's best Italian restaurant by far!

I booked this restaurant last minute for my daughter's 18th birthday celebration with a large group of 20 people. The food and service were excellent. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Had another delicious meal at Mamma Italia last night. The restaurant and bar were both bustling with activity, and the atmosphere was incredibly friendly. I would highly recommend this place.

What a wonderful place! The staff was lovely, quick, and friendly. The portions were generous, and the food was fresh and delicious. It was fabulous, and I will definitely come back again and again. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals. I can't wait to return.

Not good I’m afraid, had calamari for starters was like rubber bands, my wife and me both had sea bass for a main with chips, believe it or not it not only came with chips but also dry mashed potato, a dry Yorkshire pudding and piece of jacket potato for some reason

We had scouted venues to hold a wake and this was recommended by a friend. Great communication from Ali the manager who organised food and drinks for 60+ people. Everyone enjoyed the food and bar service was excellent. Bar area was a great area and buffet setup within. Would definitely recommend for similar function.

I’ve visited a few times now It’s one of parents go to places to eat. The staff are always very welcoming (there’s a few grumpy ones but hey we all have our off days same people every time though) Good food good atmosphere and excellent choice from the menu. Big table of 10 booked on Saturday night I emailed my menu ahead and we were accommodated beautifully. Thank you very much. Will be back when I’m home in the north east I am sure

Tried to order takeaway, online system would not take order. Rang however constantly went to voicemail so called in. Ordered 3 pizzas and sides told it would be 30 mins so I left to return 30 minutes later. On walking in staff just looked but ignored me, then eventually acknowledged. Sat and waited, another 20 minutes past then staff member asked what I had ordered, (he took the order) then informed me the kitchen had made the wrong order. Waited another 15 minutes and as a supposed gesture of compensation given a dessert… a factory made slice of apple pie. Really poor customer service. Pizzas were ok however service let’s this place down, none of the staff communicate with one another.
